Wow…Germans just committed to a 100B Euro special spend on rebuilding their military, 2% of GDP annual spending. Passed the Bundestag in a Sunday(!) sitting. Looks like only the AfD voted against, but I cannot find confirmation of that.
Livvy told us ages ago, it really is the minimum for me. Just really pissed with Europe and particularly the UK over their complacent nonsense over the last decades. Fucking helicopters my arse!
Oh, missed that. Must have been earlier, when I was scrolling through with first coffee. I will look up further in the thread.
About the only large European NATO member that has spent >2% GDP on defence for at least the last decade.
Which just goes to show what a fuck up it has been!
They refused the same proposal just few hours ago. Something isn’t right.
Russian off-ramp?
End of Putin?
They refused to meet IN Belarus, from what I can gather, this meeting is on the border (whatever difference that makes).
It’s a compromise.
Could be something as simple as lowering the level of the delegation. I don’t think it is in Ukraine’s interests not to negotiate. Russia dropped the absurd ‘lay down your arms’ precondition, and now are entering a diplomatic trap. If indeed it is a regime of Nazis, how can you be negotiating with them? Putin is illustrating to his own people that his justification is nonsense. The only people left clinging to it are alt-right idiots in the West.
Did you offer them cheddar cheese and pineapple on a stick?
Well at least we get to find out if Putin’s gone completely end-of-the-world-mad or just mad.
Ah, you’ve met my wife. Top line cuisine there
Wonder when the talks will be going on and what that means for the Sanctions (especially SWIFT because some experts were expecting the markets to break down tomorrow morning).
I’m from there mate. My dad’s darts team had a rota where each week a different member had to bring the snacks. Each time it was his turn, he’d be in the kitchen putting pieces of cheese, ham, pineapple, and pickled onions on cocktail sticks. The baldy wee twat.
Ok I’m very much a military layman but when I think artillery I’m thinking large scale, quite inaccurate fire. If those vehicles were destroyed by artillery I’d expect at least a few craters in that road but apart from the debris, that road surface looks pretty pristine.
I’m likely misunderstanding the term ‘artillery’ here.
Oligarchs flee Russia, interesting that 5 of the planes recently went to the same airport near Basel.
Maybe they think it´s still save in Switzerland, but… hey …they have to look after their money.
Not the same at all.
I’m talking about an armed soldier who is part of an invasion of your country.
