COPIUM INJECT !
INJECT MOAR !!!
desperately trying to spin it doesn’t even come close to describing that bs.
Exactly ! It’s a "Yeah, listen, this isn’t the best news and mistakes may have been made, but if you consider this, then it isn’t that bad. Also, Kremlin is risk averse and if they were willing to sustain just a tiny bit more cas, then we would roll over them, no problem "
And the other guy is of course far worse and proper “it’s aliens” guy.
Glorious ! I have now read through all of this thread and I heartedly advise others to read 20 pages or so just to get a true perspective of what real star dust copium really is !
When Shoigu announced the retreat a few days ago I wondered at the state of the Russian withdrawal and in how good an order it would be. There were also multiple reports around that time about Russians blowing up bridges behind them which had me rather confused as to how much of their forces were already across. Didn’t quite make sense to me at the time.
Now the reports are coming in of Ukrainian artillery having river crossings under fire control and that some units that were supposed to cover the retreat have left their positions and proceeded to the crossings. I’m not going to post any of these, at the moment they’re retweets of some accounts I don’t know, but I think it highly likely that it’s happening. There were just too many Russians west of the river and too few viable crossings due to groundwork laid a few months ago for the force to retreat beyond quickly and in good order. I’d love to see some footage of the crossing points
Hammer them. Hammer them hard and destroy as much as possible for as long as possible. If none of them get across then so be it. Sounds brutal to a retreating force but sometimes winning a fight like this wins future fights before they happen. An utter rout and destruction/capture of this Russian force will go a long way to ending the conflict imho. I don’t think Putin would survive the truth of that getting out.
Astonishing to see what is happening in Kherson. For months, the world has been wondering how the Russians were going to solve the obvious problem of either supplying or withdrawing through the bottleneck of the bridges. It appears that they just didn’t do either.

So many scenes I can only post fragments or it would be mega posts. Look for yourself, scroll down the time line

Scenes from Kherson city as they wait for Ukrainian forces
Stunning. Just yesterday the question was how they were going to hold the approaches long enough to get a significant number of their forces in Kherson proper across.
Yes to be fair, I think they have managed as relatively sound retreat. Those not caught by arty or part of doomed rear guard, seems, and fair is fair, to have been pulled out in a manner that is probably a military success for the Russian commanding general.
But I don’t know this, but I doubt we will see 5000 k + prisoners etc. It seems modst got out successfully and professionally.
Wowsy
As we wait, some scenes
Hard to say - there still seem to be a lot of Russians on the west bank around Nova Kakhovka. But the withdrawal from Kherson proper seems to be complete, so most of those formations must have pulled across the bridge.
Incoming
I am not posting the many liberated towns and such, way too many posts to post then. Check for yourself
The Russians wearing civvies is startling - they are dead men walking if captured like that. No protections under the Geneva Convention, they can be summarily executed on the spot.
