It is astonishing, but it is appearing less and less likely that Russia is going to take Bakhmut. Communications into Bakhmut have improved versus two weeks ago, Russia rate of fire has declined, and their regular forces do not appear to sustain the intensity of combat that Wagner forces have.

The UN , and especially the Security Council , have had serious credibility issues for years. The absurdity of Russia now chairing the SC , when there are real grounds for kicking it out of the organisation altogether , shouldn’t be lost on anybody.
