Yeah heâs got the legs and athleticism of a Patrick Viera with the quick feet and control of a much smaller Spanish midfielder. If he could add Gerrard esque shooting to his game heâd be the complete generational midfielder. Itâs tricky though - because he is just so good and indispensable itâs hard to see who is good enough that will be happy to come in as a backup.

Maybe a young player whoâs already on clubâs books? If Gravenberch continues playing like he is and stays clear of injuries, Liverpool wonât be buying someone like Zubimendi (and someone like Zubimendi wouldnât come anyway in that case).

I must say after the PSV game, Iâd be totally fine with seeing more of McConnell but when you see him not being rewarded with a spot on the bench yesterday it does make you wonderâŚthen factor in someone like Endo whoâs ahead of him and he can barely get on the pitch for longer than 5mins.
I think weâve got enough guys who can depute for Gravenberch next season
Can even look to perhaps keep Endo for another year too as a stop gap enforcer cum makeshift CB.
Tyler Morton might fetch a sizable amount on the transfer window but we donât play a traditional 6.
Bajcetic , McConnell, Nyoni , Jones(even if all of them are more 8s (so is Gravenberch by the way) , all of them in their own way can play in the double pivot replacing either of Grav or Mac.
There are backups to Soboszlai as well in his #10 role too with Jones / Elliot / Nyoni as well.
Long story short , I donât think the nominal #6 position is that much of a problem for next season. If we can add another versatile midfielder there who can play in various positions and even probably in defense. Thatâs a bonus. Maybe someone in the profile of Kimmich(if heâs available).
