Ryan GRAVENBERCH: 2025/26

I hate internationals.

Hasn’t David Lynch suggested it’s precautionary and he will likely to be fit for Sunday

It’s always precautionary until they’re out for six weeks.

Thing is, when they pull a player, it’s because he felt something. More often than not, that something isn’t nothing.

Ryan Gravenberch was substituted in the second half of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United after appearing to twist his ankle.

The mechanism - inversion and plantarflexion at the ankle, raises concern for a lateral ankle sprain. These typically involve the ATFL and, in some cases, the CFL too.

Potential Recovery Times
Grade 1: 0.5–2 weeks (most likely)
Grade 2: 3–4 weeks
Grade 3: 4–6+ weeks

Arne Slot confirmed further assessment will take place in the coming days to determine the extent of the damage.

Lateral ankle sprains often look worse than they are, if swelling and instability are minimal, a Grade 1 sprain and a quick return are most likely.

Liverpool face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League midweek and will be racing against the clock to make it. However, any ligament damage confirmed on imaging could see him sidelined for several weeks.

Assume this was 3 days ago…

Was this a result of that cunt Mbueno leaving one on him?Another one who thinks he can take liberties because we’re as soft as shite.

Seems he is missing from training but doesn’t really tell us much, see what Arne says later.

Do they?

Ryan seems to have the knack for going under the radar with those performances.

Another anonymous showing. No defensive shield and painfully limited in possession.

Massively overrated as it stands.

Slot said it himself near the end of last season while praising him, that he also needs to improve his passing game.

You cannot get out of every situation by doing his trademark move, dribbling past someone or carrying the ball. It’s impossible, no matter how good you are.

He’s not ready to be a single pivot, I don’t think. The moves we made this summer just leaves us with even more questions what’s the right selection, shape, partnerships, etc.

Worst is how he so often turns the wrong way.
He so often has an easy quick pass forward to play yet decided to turn and play back to the defence. It’s so wasteful.
His ability of nipping in and win an interception is also lost with how we press. Hard to see his usefulness at the moment. Except for perhaps we haven’t anyone else, Endo?

If Gravenberch’s form would turn to deserving to be dropped (which I don’t think is the case yet, Mac is still battling though to return to 100% shape and consistent form), I think Jones would takeover that deepest role of the double-pivots. Not Endo. It might be a zone to keep monitoring what to do over the next transfer windows.
