Sadio MANÉ: 2020/21

Exactly. Such a dangerous player to play against. High work rate. Constantly being defended by two opponents.

Couldn’t care less if he doesn’t score like in the past. Realistically he is not replaceable.

Interestingly, he has actually improved in this area since coming to Liverpool. In his earlier days he would often commit foul going for those 50/50 balls, the lowest point being sent off against City. Now a days he has become clinical in this aspect.

Terrible cameo, what the hell was that, especially with the chance at the end. I thought Bobby had a good linking up game, but then the drop from that to Mane’s stuff centrally, that was obvious. Sometimes I prefer Jota centrally. In Madrid, I felt we needed to switch Mane centrally, but today, maybe put Jota centrally would mimic more the stuff Bobby did.

Mane has been going full Jordon Ibe for months.

He is not 23-26 anymore.

Sell him perhaps.

What the hell has happened to this guy?! He’s been poor for some time but was truly woeful tonight. A complete dead end, miles off the mark. Every time the ball reached him it was possession lost. Throwing himself to the ground needlessly in the 6 yard box was disgraceful. One of the most infuriating performances from a Liverpool player in recent memory imo.

Needs a long break this summer, recharge batteries and come back firing on all cylinders next season.

His decision making is and has been so so poor this season, where has the real Sadio gone.

If it’s the same incident that I am thinking of, when he turned his defender then went down, he clearly slipped.

But yes, he has been way below his best this season.

Got into some good positions, but absolutely terrible delivery all night.

He used to have these spells for Soton to be honest but they didn’t last this long, he hasn’t had a decent game since Palace.

A world class player having a tough run of form.

Yeah, let’s bin him off. Players like Sadio are ten a penny.

I appreciate that our current squad have got plenty of credit in the bank but for how long do you put up with substandard performances?

Do we keep this current squad together until they’re all 40 because, you know, they ended our 30-year title drought?

We know how good Sadio is, so you give him every chance. Especially as his drop in form coincided with him getting Covid.

But nobody knows for how long “Long Covid” lasts.

What if he never recaptures his past form?

Yeah. I think let’s not fuck him off after six months and find it lasts seven.

Trent is similar. There have been fans giving him a right kicking, and the lad is barely twenty, is trying to look after a scratch defence, dealing with upheaval in the midfield that usually covers the stuff we love to see him do, and recover from a horrible illness.

This is not the season to get too much on anyone’s back, in my opinion.

Do the same as we done with Torres sell him for a very large fee to some plastic club.

The difference is that, Trent is 23.

Mane is 29, the age when most athletes begin to decline, so we don’t know whether his problem is temporary form dip or permanent decline.

Yeah this is what I’m thinking it might be, I seriously think most players will stay due the market, we will make signings and some leave but the overhaul suggested won’t happen and it shouldn’t, we will know whether it’s exhaustion and illness or it is a actual decline in performance pretty soon, I assume the data lot have their pulses on this.

I think he is just stretched too thin. Hopefully after a long summer break he will be back to his best.

Look at his age - he could be just stretched too thin, or, he is actually declining. If it is the second case, then he must be sold as soon as possible.
