Did he ever play for Scotland? I can’t remember him having a game, but then the national team was spoilt for choice then.

Scottish football has been suffering since Souness’ time with them.
Rangers exploited the European ban on English clubs.
Towards the end of Rangers dominance, Celtic and other Scottish clubs started bringing in cheap foreign imports.
Scottish youth football no doubt suffered with youngsters struggling to develop into starters.
Then Bosman compounded it.
Changed days indeed from my young days where just about every top English club had at least 2 or 3 Scottish stars.
I dont think Scottish football has ever recovered.
Do you feel changing the league format had an adverse effect on scottish football?
As in teams no longer field as many young players through fear of relegation from the top division

The change was 10 years previous to Souness taking charge, so don’t think that was the issue
The Belgian Sebastien Pocognoli was appointed as new manager of Scotland national team. For the first time in 22 years recieves Scotland a foreign manager.
