1st you answered your own question as I’m not sure officiating will improve any time soon.
2nd I think there will be times this season when we just do struggle to put it together. The villa game had some ridiculous luck to make it seem worse but we probably still lost that game even without the freaky luck. A game we should comfortably win. I think that’ll happen a fair bit this season to all teams even us.
Feels like a key part of the season right now, we are on the brink for me. Anymore stupid slips could be critical.
We have gotten away with it so far because other teams have been dropping stupid points, but I think City are past that now and look like they have taken a bit of fight from our struggles. They will not be as bad in the second half of the season as they were in the first, so we have to address this slump we are in tonight for me.
City have been in poor (for them) form for a season and a half now. They look like they’ve hit a bit of form in recent weeks, but it’s too early to think they are getting back to their previous imperious level.
They won’t need that. We were out of sight a few weeks ago, and now they are potentially a point away. So, what does that say about our current form? Our lads have to improve very soon, otherwise we’ll be in for a rude awakening.
Hopefully Thiago can stay fit from now on, because I see him as genuine game-changer for the second half of our season. Fingers crossed!
Edit: Keita apparently injured again… so that’s that… we simply can’t get a break.
He played against Palace, then dropped out of the squad for the WBA and NU games. Don’t remember anything about him being injured then - but could have missed it
Trailing by 13 points now, isn’t it? That means that if we match results from now on until the end of the season, we would end up at 86 points. That could possibly be enough to win the league this season, but matching our results from now on, with our current form and injuries, looks like a daunting task…
