Serie A Discussion

Sarri has resigned as Lazio manager.

Anyone follow Bologna? They are currently fourth in the table.

I don’t follow them, but watch enough Serie A have to have found their season really interesting. I watched their recent match against Inter, they didn’t have quite enough to get anything from it (1-0 Inter) but they really controlled most of the play.

Probably the worst set piece defending you’ll ever see from Milan there. Acerbi with the easiest goal he’ll score in his life.

How can a CB be free in the centre of box 3 yards out? As it stands Inter are champions.

Inter is playing them off the park.

Aye could’ve been 1-1 or 2-0 just now, bit of end to end action…Sommer with a brilliant save, Maignan fairly routine but either side of him and it’s 2-0. Leao playing the #9 can’t get in the game.

he’s not one to stamp his name in a game though. Milan don’t really have a game-changer in their ranks, other than Giroud on the bench.

Have to admire how Rossi is doing at Roma initially. 12 wins from 18 games. Simplified some things, improved results, etc. Now signed a deal to remain in charge. We’ll see how it evolves.

just heard the commentator say "Inter is 45min away from being champions. 45min away from a second star on their shirt.

Aren’t the stars for CL wins?

One star = 10 league titles in Italy

was a great player for them as well. it’s De Rossi, right? or do they not use that formally

learned something new today. thanks

Congrats Inter.

Winning your 20th title to go one Milan, clinching it with a win against them.

What a night for Inter.

Title ending up being a bit processional, but overall Serie A may be the most compelling league in Europe this year. The scrap for the European places is still interesting, and Bologna is a great story this season.

Football is in a real mess

Inter Milan has had its ownership turned over to a US Investment Fund with no interest in football because of unpaid loan obligations from the Chinese ownership group that had owned them since 2016. For their part, Oaktree are saying the right things about the obligations to Inter Milan as an institution that needs to be protected, but they have no interest in football.

The crazy thing is that Oaktree has no interest in football, extended terms with Suning to avoid this impasse, is clear that they are going to operate the club with an eye to finding a buyer…but Inter Milan still have a better ownership status than Everton. A disinterested Oaktree trying to maximize value is going to be a much sounder custodian than 777 Partners and/or an exiting Moshiri.

That’s what football is about.

Empoli scored late against Roma to stay up and some players collapse to the ground in celebration.

I was hoping Gasperini would end up at Napoli. Probably another shitshow for the club and Conte.
