Oh hey whatās this about?
EDIT: Forgot the most important thing, seems that just copying the link works better than copying the embed code.
You all need to embrace the spirit of aloha.
Couple more reliable football correspondents join this shit and I can ignore my xitter.
I can share the text of a post, but not the associated video.
(Just an example)
So what do we figure the time gap will be between Twitter being only populated by extremist toxic idiots, and those idiots getting bored of each other and migrating to Bluesky and Threads to spread their toxicity there instead?
Couple of months?
Not sure incels ever get bored of one another. They lack the memory span.
I think the rationale here is to ensure that people see only what they are interested in.
This keeps people in a closed echo loop. As long as you remain within your interests. Itās not likely to be a cesspit.
Itās fine for me if the football correspondents start posting here. Means that I have to spend lesser time patronizing muskās and zuckās cesspits.
Whether it lasts , who the fuck knows.
As to whether the herding of people into explicit chambers is a good solution. I donāt think itās a particularly good one as people are stuck in those echo chambers and do not necessarily know whatās happening around them.
But itās probably better than the current scenario where people are fuckwits though and bots reign supreme.
I feel like for toxic types, getting one over on (ādunking onā, āpwningā or whatever the current slang is) on people who donāt agree with them (ālibsā, libtardsā or whatever the current slang is) is by far the most attractive part of social media.
As someone who has never used social media (and, no, internet forums do not count), what do you get there that is so valuable? Why not just wait for the ājournalistā to publish an article on their website or in a newspaper/magazine?
Iād guess a couple of things - immediacy and lack of paywalls (I think Joyceās Times articles are generally paywalled, same for Ornstein and the Athletic).
