Should TAN ban X?

Well it´s promoting in terms of using and monetising their product.

But as I said, you probably right it wasn´t a great exact analogy

FWIW, I am committed to not using the Newcastle United social media application.

The biggest issue is that the majority of the content and people/organisations are still there. I listened to a Radio 5 segment on the Grok/Image stuff last year where the presenter continually pestered the Labour representative about why they still used X given what they are allowing. The uncomfortable answer is that the audience they want to speak to are still there, and upon checking after the BBC and Radio 5 were all still there too.

At least with embedded content here you usually don’t need to go to the website itself and the additional revenue that would entail.

The main advantage is that you don’t have to put up with the vile filth that is foisted in your face the second you open the app.

Generally, I trust people here only to post relevant, curated content.

I use XCancel to redirect the twitter posts (there is a Firefox extension as well), it strips out all the junk and allow you to read the thread. Note that it will not work properly for a straight up twitter image post.

Yes
Newcastles owners were criticised on here.
As are Man City owners.

As for Musk?
As @aussielad so eloquently states, he is more than a bit of a cunt.

I support banning X but there are posters who I respect using X for content. And I support their right to do so. Its not banned, they’re entitled to post content.

Maybe having people and communities that I care about being demonised on social media has turned me off the cunt who owns X.

I saw it too, it suddenly appeared in my profile.

cept it has nothing to do with Bezos —all the PL clubs will be getting it soon, in time for the new season.

(It’s the platform’s longstanding hashflag feature for Premier League clubs, activated for the new season—not a unique Elon “upgrade” just for LFC. Other teams get the same treatment.)

It doesn’t appear to work on the links here, though.

There was a period when a cosplayer on Bluesky kept appearing in a Liverpool feed because she used the #LFC tag (I tried to explain to her why she received bemused responses) I have also seen #YNWA used by Celtic fans, so I would imagine that they won’t be best amused having the wrong club logo on.

Changed my mind tbh.

Can get a bit spammy and making discussion harder. Wouldn’t mind it banned

With the recent cease and desist order for nitter and xcancel, hopefully it will make twitter/X even more irrelevant.

It really sucks that the trillion dollar baby does this and stopping the only way that I would even view posts on twitter/X.

For now, there are still some alternatives until god knows when.
