Only person missing from the training is Danns, hope it’s nothing.
Anyhow
Concussion supposedly
Might make the City game if it was from the incident on Saturday as that’s 7 days.
Alisson will be gutted he isn’t there
Liverpool travelling squad: Gomez, Endo, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Mac Allister, Salah, Adrian, Gakpo, Elliott, Tsimikas, Robertson, Clark, Gordon, McConnell, Kelleher, Koumas, Quansah, Bradley, Musialowski, Mrozek.
If the growing injury rumours on Kelleher are to be believed…
I hope he remembered to take this with him in case he struggles with just his one good arm :0)
I think those rumours have died …for now.
Though credit to our medical team after all with the hamstring, acl and broken wrist yesterday he has made a good recovery
Let me stop you right there…
Klopp taking the piss out of Pearce I think
I would expect a strong side from what Klopp was saying.
Unlikely Dom or Salah will start from what was suggested. Guess we will see what team he plays. Might be worth another run out for Bobby Clark with rotation with Dom and Elliott in the CM for Macallister.
It is a perfect match to give our returnees from injury (Endo, Darwin, Dom, Mo) some minutes to get them up to speed for the Cheaty clash. And to offer some of our other players some rest - though the break since our last match was relatively long so all of them should be well-rested anyway (e.g. Diaz only played one match in the last 10 days). So we can expect 5 or 6 changes in the starting lineup.
In defence, Tsimi shall replace Robbo and Quansah shall come in for Konate (I know VVD also played a lot, but Konate seems more prone to injuries and I would thus rather rest him). Gomez and Bradley both played a lot lately, so they will likely share minutes at the RB.
Midfield is a guess. Macca spoke in the press conference yesterday, so he is likely to start - if he did not spoke at the presser, I would believe he starts at the bench - but he should not play the whole match anyway as he played a lot of minutes during the last 2-3 weeks. I think he starts and is then replaced around 55-60’ by Endo, who needs minutes after his knock. Dom should also come on at that point to get up to speed. I guess McConnell might start as no.6 alongside Macca and Elliott (if not McConnell, we have another start for Clark).
Attack? Nunez needs a decent chunk of minutes (he could possibly even start and play 55-60’, as he already looked ready at the League Cup final). Probably alongside Gakpo (who hopefully won’t be needed to start against Cheaty) and Diaz, who can put another shift of 70-75’ before being replaced by returning Mo.
Yeah, I think the starting line-up might be relatively strong, but minutes will mostly be shared among the lately-most-used players and injury returnees (who need minutes to get sharp for Sunday). And we can definitely beat Sparta with that lineup.
Another really difficult selection, and I think we’ll a lot of programmed subs.
I think Kelleher will start in goal. Although I would play Adrian.
Quansah will be CB, and Konate and Van Dijk will do 45 each.
Tsimikas at LB. Bradley and Gomez sharing RB
I’d like Endo to get 60mins, and then come off for Mac Allister. I’d like Clark to play the full 90, as should McConnell
Up front I think Danns starts, and comes off for Diaz. Gakpo does 90mins. Darwin starts and comes off for Salah.
The only player I can’t get in is Robbo, but I’ve only got five subs for fucks sake.
Danns hasn’t travelled.
Dom needs some minutes
Haha @Mascot
Just heard. Concussion, apparently in the collision with the Forest keeper
