Doak continues to impress, once he sets off on his bike there really is no catching him…
Some lovely attacking link up again between Jota/Gakpo and then Mo/Nunez…all nicely taken goals, unlucky for Nunez he couldn’t win it in the end.
Not gonna go into the defensive side of it when we’re playing without a DM and playing fullbacks to fill positions they’d never be playing otherwise.

So we won’t challenge for the title because of our 3rd and 4th CBs? Good to know.

Are there highlights anywhere?
I thought Macallister looked good, Dom didn’t play today so I’d hold any opinion on him.
Dom did look very good last week - offal put out a video of every one of his touches. Tidy player.
Well what happens if VVD and Konate gets injured. They have to play.
We’re toast. The squad has no depth and we will get injuries.
Nunez, Jota, Gakpo and MacAllister look really sharp. Impressive first couple of outings from them. Bradley looked better today, a decent showing from Elliot as well.
On the flip side, Matip, Gomez and Tsimikas look lost in this newer shape. Without a couple of key names I wonder if we will have to revert back to a more familiar 433 shape.
It’s if they have to play together without Robbo and Trent and Adrian in goal.
If it gets that bad I’ll give up.
Is Kelleher injured anyhow?

No he isn’t, Klopp said that it’s just been rotation, so that everyone could get some minutes.

Good to hear.
Still potential he leaves but I would hope we wouldn’t do anything with a bid this late, offer him the Europa League group stages and both cups

While its a highly non competitive friendly, one thing I notice is Nunez looking sharper in situations that he would have shot directly at the keeper or miss the goal. He took his 2 goals well and composed. Hope as the pre season progresses, he can carry that into the season proper.

I was thinking about this last week and this.
It’s very good to see.

We need an extra quality midfielder and centre-half to compete for the PL title.
So name a squad that has better 3rd and 4th choice CB’s?
Arsenal have Holding as 4th, Utd have Slabhead, Chelsea’s 1st choice is a 350y/o nutter pushing Milner for the title of the oldest footballer, Newcastle have Lescelles as 3rd and no idea who they would play as 4th.
None of them are better than Gomez or Matip imo
Darwin’s second goal was quality. Looked very composed.
