It should not be missed that the festival happened on the anniversary of Kashogi’s murder
David Cross is sometimes annoyingly lefty but he released an absolutely scathing take down of these comedians

I don’t think more podcasts is the way to go.
My grandma’s comedians were the likes of Arthur Askey and Max Miller.
Arthur Askey and Dougie Wougie Bader went down to the Animal Farm…
I thang you!
You wanna start a podcast with me?
(Ignore the stupid title).
Apparently Theo Con is going around telling audiences he wants to kill himself.
Boston Buzzsaw Bill isn’t offering any relief.
You sanctimonious pricks.
The worst part is the sanctimony.
She Sells Sanctimony
He had an absolute car crash of a performance last week while trying to film a Netflix special. He kept losing his train of thought and had to walk off stage several times. I read the stories and it hit me I hadnt realized he was actually considered a comedian.
And I dont mean that in a sanctimonious “have you tried being funny way”. I think its just a reflection of how people are just famous now and you’re forced to know about them even if you have no interest in what they offer
I only recently found out he’s 45 years old. The adult man who pretended to fall off his chair at Trump’s inauguration is 45 years old.
I really have a problem with podcast culture; I can’t necessarily articulate what it is that I hate about it so much, but I do hate it. I’d never intentionally watch Theo Von’s podcast, but I’ve been at enough after parties where he’s on the retina-wrecking big screen, and he’s an affable, likable, even witty fella, on his podcast, but that doesn’t extend to stand-up.
The US has such a strong history of stand-up comedians speaking truth to power and, when I watch Theo Von’s podcast, it just feels like such a weak desecration of that legacy that it doesn’t even deserve the word.
