Summer 2024 Transfer Window

Olise already turned Chelsea down a year ago, didn’t he? I don’t expect anything they’ve shown since has made them any more of an attractive option…

City’s interest, though, could be more worrying. With Silva and de Bruyne possibly off, that opens up room for him.

Palace’s new signing, Chadi Riad, wants people to believe he is 20…

Maybe he meant 20s

Poor lad…thrown into a den of dickweeds…will he play or will he sit on the bench for a season…or is he the next in line to Slabhead…we shall see…

Brace yourself for 3 months of this…

My sources tell me there’s a 37.5 mil bid incoming

Villa’s FFP issues means they’re apparently about to sell Douglas Luiz to Juventus for 20m + Samuel Iling Jr and Weston McKennie.

McKennie is a terrible player who already failed once in the PL with Leeds.

Iling Jr has been talked about as one of the biggest prospects in the game since he was 16 but I think most of the hype is generated by the fact he moved to Juventus from Chelsea and people assumed it meant he’s world class. He turns 21 in October and is barely kicking a ball for Juventus (less than 1000 minutes this season) which is significantly less than, for example, Conor Bradley managed for us and Bradley only made his PL debut in January.

Iling Jr would also be joining a team with several good wingers already in place, not least of which is Morgan Rogers who is already fulfilling that role of “young, developing player”. Seems a pointless move.

For that and 20m they’ll be letting an absolutely pivotal player leave the club. Not good planning or negotiating Villa.

That’s a proper transfer for Aston Villa, kudos. Imagine how good they’d be if there weren’t any regulations that prevent illegal sponsorships and other financial activities…

Tim Iroegbunam from Villa to Everton
Brentford have signed Julian Eyestone, 18 year old GK from Duke University.

There is something poetic about it being Juventus who took advantage of a club that has been financially mismanaged.

4 moves in the last week or so from Chelsea, Villa and Newcastle signing each other’s youth players at considerably inflated fees. That is a pretty transparent book cooking process and worse looks like collusion.
