Alexander Sorloth from Palace to Leipzig for Ā£18m. Was initially out on loan to Trabzonspor until the summer of 2021.

There you go, Parish, now you have the money for Brewster.

Although thereā€™s still another couple of weeks to go, Iā€™m getting a bit edgy about the slow pace in clearing the deadwood.

Diego Farias from Cagliari to Spezia on loan.
Alessandro Deiola from Cagliari to Spezia on loan.
Leo Bonatini from Wolves to Grasshoppers on loan.
Romain Philippoteaux from Nimes to Brest for Ā£450k.
Alvaro Morata from Atletico to Juve on loan, Ā£9m fee, option to buy for Ā£40m.

Semedo has signed for Wolves from Barca.

Wolves are having a good window.

They are basically the Portugal B national side now!

Iā€™m very puzzled by the Wolves signings

#1. How can they afford all these?
#2. How does so many foreign players fit into the 8+17?

Iā€™m not sure they bought many players last summer, and they have had a somewhat small squad. Their majority owners, Fosun, are the 4th richest on the Premier League owners list ($9.14bn) so they are not without money. Also, they have a super agent in charge of transfers, and he isnt having them buy poorly or paying too much for players he largely manages.

For accounting purposes they can book sales up front, while they recieve the payments spread out over a longer period, so the sales of Doherty to Spurs and Jota cover a lot of the incoming expenditure on the books. Financially they are solid enough to wait for those payments to catch up to payments going out for players.

Interesting, I thought it was Party it was revolving around.

yeah thatā€™s what i thought when i saw they were moving torreira on, partey would be a really good signing for them imo

still havenā€™t found anyone to take guendouzi off their hands

Parteyā€™s got a ā‚¬50m clause I think, not sure if there was a date when it can be activated. Obviously heā€™s one of Atleticoā€™s key players, they would need someone different and better than Torreira to replace him. Weā€™ll see if someone like Arsenal attract him or not.

Hereā€™s another one to puzzle over. Maybe theyā€™ve managed to get the same kind of deal we got for Jota.

I wonder if Ki-Jana Hoever would have signed for Wolves I heā€™d knew they will sign Semedo too.

Surely KJH didnā€™t expect anything more than a rotation spot. He is very young, have played very little and Wolves are a good side.

Semedo signing is very ambitious though.

Donā€™t think Hoever can count at the moment on a Wolves bringing him to be 1st choice. Maybe not even second, weā€™ll see what they do with Traoreā€™s positions. He might be in those combinations initially as they judge his quality at the moment. His mission is to get closer to first team minutes and see where it takes him now. Heā€™s only 18, maybe heā€™ll still need a loan or two down the line before heā€™s fully ready to compete for either RWB/RCB spots.
