Summer Transfer Window 2021

No - just being linked. They want him on loan, Chelsea want a permanent transfer.

Leicester reportedly (SSN) now on the hunt for a CB following Fofana’s leg break (what a horrible tackle that was - in a fucking friendly). Ben Davies for £10m Brodge?

If Tammy goes to Southampton, I don’t see us being the beneficiaries of any of this spending. It’s just one less option for our players to be sold to. Likewise, I’m not sure Spurs having money from selling Kane will wind up here either.

They were linked with Kabak earlier this summer. I wouldn’t be surprised for that to happen if we don’t have an under the table agreement with him.

The 2nd part of my post was not meant to suggest that Tammy going to Saints will benefit us. It was a separate statement and I was saying that, generally, once a couple of the big transfers happen (Kane, Lukaku, Grealish etc) it sets of chain reactions (Europe wide) - and I think it’s then Edwards will work his magic (generally) whether that be in our outs.

Yeah can see Leicester signing Kabak - and Davies comment was tongue in cheek

I understand that. But as I said, I don’t see where that chain of spending gets to involve us. If Southampton buy Tammy, that probably ends any of the Ings money coming to us beyond that £1-2m we already are entitled to. Likewise Spurs look like they are trying to sign some players from Italy and Spain that I don’t think would lead to additional demand for our players. The only one that comes to mind is Wolves selling Traore as they’ve already shown interest 2 years running for Origi - but is that link to Spurs real?

You’re looking for tangible links, however it’s silly season, and given how Edwards/Liverpool have operated during the last few years (in silence), there’s no real idea of what will happen when.

I think that when transfers happen (Europe wide), clubs shortlists for players get shorter (as they miss out on players), and transfers start happening as clubs move to secure signings before they miss out or before the season starts, or to balance books, to sort a major problem out (i.e. Leicester needing cover after a leg break). For every transfer made, another club generally needs to do something, and it’s in the lull between the waves, that I think Liverpool will be active and ready to take advantage. It’s also just as likely we do nothing - all depends on the waves and whether we can get involved.

Lukaku to Chelsea
Zapata to Inter
Abraham to Atalanta

Romano has said this could be the merry go round that happens on Twitter. If I was Tammy I’d jump at the chance of playing for Atalanta over Southampton. Champions League football playing for an incredibly attacking side that will create umpteen chances for him.

Yep, brilliant opportunity to experience another culture as well and Bergamo…

Unfortunately, Inter won’t need to sell Lukaku when Mikey pays them £80m for Lautaro Martinez so that whole row of dominos is gonna collapse.

There, FIFY :innocent:

Amadou Onana from HSV to Lille for £6.3m.

It’s more that money is now coming into the market and that will kickstart things. Chelsea buying Lukaku means Tammy will be on the move and that doesn’t benefit us. But Inter will need a replacement. That probably won’t be Origi but they’ll buy someone and then that club who sold a player will need to buy someone and now have some cash and so on.

Tammy’s moving to Southampton is actually partly the result of Man City pumping money into the market. City buy Grealish, Villa buy Ings, Southampton buy Abaraham as Lukaku has now taken his place. The more spending and movement the big guys make, the more money about for smaller clubs to then be able to spend.

It’s not that we need Southampton or Inter to buy Origi, we need the money in the market to get players moving and money trickling down to create opportunities for the type of club that might look at Origi as a good option to have both a need and some money. When Kane goes, same thing happens again. A huge influx of cash, Spurs go off and buy players, those players need replacing by clubs that now have cash and fingers crossed Origi and Minamino are on shopping lists somewhere along the way.

This is why FFP is allowed to be abused… The powers that be want the money to trickle downwards.

The Demiral and Romero moves are interesting. Juve’s defense is old so I always assumed they were priming Demiral to play an increasingly bigger role, and that Romero would be making his way back there if he did well at Atalanta. For them to have now “lost” both players means they’re surely looking for a new CB

Maybe Ben Davies?

55m euros…Kane is on his way!

I believe it was only 20% of fee over 20m and fee was actually 25m so we collected… 1m. Don’t spend it all at once Edwards

Kane, Messi, or both? Welcome to FFP gone mad.

In all honesty it makes sense for Barcelona to move on. If they resigned him, even at half the cost, they wouldn’t have been able to afford to register any players. They’re up shit’s creek.
