Summer Transfer Window 2022

Josh Doig from Hibernian to Hellas Verona for £3.2m.
Luis Maximiano from Granada to Lazio for £9.4m.

Should be Lazio’s new starting GK. Strakosha about to sign for Brentford on a free.

i feel sorry for josh doing. what a last name. a life full of “how’s you doing?” “what you doing?”

My mistake, it’s Doig.

:joy:

I’m wondering what went wrong here…

It feels like a thread remembering past football manager ‘wonderkids’ and a who’s who? of football players joining teams i’ve never heard of. As well as the good ol “remember him?”.

it is wonderful @zoran. cheers <3

Nat’s still available

Raphinha from Leeds to Barca for £52.2m.

Funny summer for Leeds.

So far, around €100m in sales, around €100m in purchases. Two club record sales this summer in Phillips and Raphinha. 6 new players in.

And we still have a month and a half to go in the window.

Big changes for Jesse Marsch, let’s see how he builds this “slightly” new Leeds team.

Francisco Trincao from Barca to Sporting Lisbon on loan.

I guess he will replace Sarabia there (who scored 22 goals and has 9 assists last season), which could mean that Galtier counts on him for depth at PSG.

Ciaran Clark from Newcastle to Sheffield United on loan.
Robert Bozenik from Feyenoord to Boavista on loan.
Lucas Gourna-Douath from St. Etienne to RB Salzburg for £11.7m.
Chidera Ejuke from CSKA Moscow to Hertha on loan.
Raheem Sterling from City to Chelsea confirmed, £50.5m.
Albin Ekdal from Sampdoria to Spezia on a free.

Jonathan Panzo from Forest to Coventry on loan.
Marijan Cabraja from Dinamo Zagreb to Hibernian on a free.
Benjamin Lecomte from Monaco to Espanyol on loan.
Joshua King from Watford to Fenerbahce on a free.

Not sure the quality of who Leeds have brought in but 6 good players in and 2 better out is exactly what they needed to do. There squad was too small last season and if they were lucky not to go down.

Yeah, they certainly needed numbers. Agree on the quality part, I don’t know much. But my point was that they’re on a 0 balance at the moment, so with 6 players already in, they could still bring in a few. Marsch really needs to prove now that he belongs at this level.

It puzzles me what will this guy be doing in Hibs. He was very average even in Slovenian 1st league.

Maybe Scotland’s level also dropped in recent times…

Stefano Gori from Juventus to Parma on loan.
Martin Payero from Middlesbrough to Boca on loan.
Alex Kral from Spartak Moscow to Schalke on loan.
Mesut Ozil from Fenerbahce to Istanbul BB on a free.

Looking at West Ham’s first team squad, and apart from goalkeepers and defence, despite being on a £50m net spend so far this summer and considering they will have European football, it seems light…

3 GK’s: Fabianski, Areola’s loan turned into a permanent move, Randolph.

5 CB’s: Zouma, Aguerd, Dawson, Ogbonna, Diop (who’s been linked with a move out).
4 FB’s: Coufal, Cresswell, Johnson, Masuaku.

3 CM’s: Rice (going nowhere this summer at least it seems), Soucek, Downes has been signed from the Championship to provide backup.

Attacking midfielders, wingers and forwards: Bowen, Fornals, Benrahma, Lanzini (who can also cover at CM like he did last season, but that was more of an urgency I think), Vlasic (who they want to get rid, probably on loan for now), Antonio.

So, 9 senior players for all the midfield and attacking positions, out of which they want to get rid of one.
