Was one of the contenders to replace Phil.

Jon Guridi from Sociedad to Alaves on a free.
Callum Doyle from City to Coventry on loan.
Kristian Thorstvedt from Genk to Sassuolo for £9m.

Jeff Hendrick from Newcastle to Reading on loan.
Rabbi Matondo from Schalke to Rangers for £2.7m.
Tonny Vilhena from Krasnodar to Espanyol for £2.2m.

Owen Wijndal from AZ to Ajax for £9m.

wow, that’s quite the move.

I swear this guy last forever. I had him in my squad in FIFA 13, I think

Only saw the ads here a few days ago. That’s a nice surprise. Toronto FC has been poor in the past 2 seasons. Let’s hope that we’re a bit more competitive this coming season.

Lewis Ferguson from Aberdeen to Bologna for £3.1m.
Miguel Borja from Junior FC to River Plate for £6.3m.
Evann Guessand from Nice to Nantes on loan.
Nathan Collins from Burnley to Wolves for £21.8m, becomes the most expensive Irish footballer ever.

Crazy that as I had Keane as the most expensive but he was only 19m plus add one, probably shows how bad Irish football has got that no one has topped that til now.

Good fee for Burnley for Collins.

Federico Macheda from Panathinaikos to Ankaragucu on a free.
Samu Castillejo from Milan to Valencia on a free.
Alessio Romagnoli from Milan to Lazio on a free.
Josh Cullen from Anderlecht to Burnley for £2.7m.

Burnley’s current overall balance is +£27m, so we’ll see what Kompany does in the remainder of the window. 6 players already in though, but loans and a few cheap ones. Squad is immediately younger as well with the changes so far.

Keane Lewis-Potter from Hull to Brentford for £17.1m, for the second time this summer Brentford’s new club record.

Bayern Sport Director Hasan Salihamidžić arrived in Italy to finalize a deal for de Ligt.

That could start a bit of a CB carousel As much as he hasnt been a big success yet, Juve would prefer to keep him and if they concede to him leaving will have to go and buy someone. That may make it harder for Chelsea and City to get the CB they’re interested in.

Better than Malacia, IMO

I saw Chelsea being linked to Koulibaly this evening.

Precisely. It could be lazy reporting, but he is allegedly their #1 target to replace De Ligt should he leave.

It adds another big club into the mix looking to sign a CB this summer, and there seemingly not being enough ready made top CBs available for everyone to get what they want. The inevitable results is some combination of

  1. Clubs getting the player they want at an elevated price
  2. Clubs going without after missing their primary target
  3. Clubs pulling a rabbit out of the hat and gambling on a player with lower profile hoping they come good (e.g. Garvdiol)
