One of the biggest misconceptions in the game. Yes, they bought Kante, Mahrez, Maguire and Vardy for very little and have had great value out of them on the pitch and also in the market for the former three. But, they’ve spent a lot of money on absolute dross that they’ve really struggled to shift.

Well over £200m on players they’ve seen add very little to the team and have/will see very little back from when moving them on.
According to Di Marzio Roma are close to agreeing a loan deal for Gini Wijnaldum with the obligation to buy him (less than €6m) if he play 50% of their games.
I found Brighton difficult to get my head around last season. Everytime I saw them they impressed me, and often when you see a side like that so exceed expectations you can identify one or two players who seem to be driving that. Players who clearly are meant to play at the next level. But I never got a sense of that watching them, albeit the limited number of times I did.
If people told me were interested in Bissouma I could accept he was driving it. If I see City in for Cucurella I could accept it was him. But I never saw a single performance from any of them that necessarily stood out over the rest of the team.

That’s not a terrible landing spot for a guy who needed something before the world cup. It will be better preparation than going to the championship as lots of places were assuming would happen.
I’m sure I read somewhere, either the BBC or the Guardian, that Leicester have to comply with FFP requirements before they can spend.
They are now saying it would cost NUFC 60 million for Maddison. Newcsstle would be fools to pay that much, it would just be boosting the sportswashing premium.
Is it too much to ask that Chelsea pay a king’s ransom for De Jong, whose transfer fee Barcelona will then use to get Bernardo Silva from Man City, who will then use that money to supply their fans on Twitter with plenty of arguments for tweets where they can show that Guardiola can compete with Klopp’s net spend, all while finishing fifth in PL table behind us, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal, in that order, as well as crashing out of CL in the quarterfinals?
