Interesting at Southampton is that the contracts of 3 of their senior goalkeepers have expired; McCarthy, Forster and Caballero.
Means that Bazunu is pretty much their only senior GK at the moment, they’ll probably bring in some experienced backup as well. They will hope that he’s more successful than Gunn, who was also bought for a similar fee from City a few years ago.
We’ll see how this influences Kelleher’s situation, if Bazunu is a starter for Saints in the PL, for that battle for Ireland’s no.1 goalkeeper.

From what I’ve seen of Bazunu, he’s a much better goalkeeper than Angus Gunn so I think will turn out to be a great signing.
They’re paying out a lot of money to do it but Southampton have done a good job of picking up talented players from Man City and Chelsea - Livramento the standout so far but also Dynel Simeu is a promising defender and they had a decent purple patch from Broja. Bazunu I think will be a very good goalkeeper.

I think there’s a 10% sell-on clause - I thought it should have been higher at the time of his departure. He seems built for PL and he’ll probably do well with Cooper. I can’t remember if Cooper coached him at Liverpool, though.
