Summer Transfer Window 2023

Not sure what to make of that news. Obviously he’s a very good player who wont look out of place anywhere, but it’s really hard to see what they intend to do with him.

They play with just 1 DM and Rodri was one of their best performers last year. It doesnt make much sense to spend money to bring someone in to challenge or even upgrade him given how important he’s been. So, does this mean another change in shape/approach for them next year? Or does Rice get changed into a different player? Maybe Rodri drops back into defense?

I think they’re just doing it because they were worried Arsenal could be a force next year with him so trying to keep the gap in quality between them at large. What’s 90m to City, he’ll either sit on the bench and play back up to Rodri as he doesn’t improve them in that area or he’s used as a 3rd CB probably in place of Ake/Stones.

That’s Sky Sports Italy. Perhaps not all that reliable. Of course money talks …
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta believes England midfielder Declan Rice, 24, is the club’s future captain and the Gunners are preparing a third offer closer to West Ham’s demands. (Mail)

Rice remains keen to join Arsenal despite Manchester City planning to enter the race and the Treble winners also being able to meet the £100m asking price. (Guardian)

does seem like an odd signing for City

Like Stones, Grealish and Haaland?

He doesn’t much improve City and he does Arsenal, but I’m kind of hoping he fucks off Pep.

i still think he goes arsenal.

Could be that Phillips is on his way out. Rice could play alongside Rodri in some games. There’s a possibility that he could also do what Stones does now. Although his future probably remains in midfield. Comparisons are shit, but Dier didn’t do well enough when he dropped to CB from midfield.

Could it be just to try and bump the price up further, with no real intent to sign him?

Odin Thiago Holm from Valerenga to Celtic for €3m.
Koji Miyoshi from Royal Antwerp to Birmingham on a free.
Veljko Birmancevic from Toulouse to Slovan Bratislava on loan.
Zidane Iqbal from United to Utrecht for €1m.
Christoph Baumgartner from Hoffenheim to RB Leipzig for €24m.

Imagine he’s the Nkunku replacement, good signing.

Yeah I’m gutted we didn’t sign Koyi Miyoshi

I thought that was a bit of typo, and it is.

Watch out for those tumbleweeds.

I copied from the list above.

Sorry, I shouldn’t have replied to your post. I wasn’t inferring that you’d made a mistake.

Iuri Medeiros from Braga to Al-Nasr for €3m.

Leandro Margalla from Munich 1860 to RB Salzburg for €2.5m and then loaned out to Liefering.

Look like they got another hooligan for their hooligan squad.
