Just because he spent most of last season injured doesn’t mean he’s a good fit for us

Looked to be a good player emerging there but a whole year out would be a massive concern. He’d play very much a backup role and all being well he’d not play that often so couldn’t see how he gets form and fitness back and if he did. Then Ramsey comes back next summer and we’ve two back up types, neither of whom are likely to really challenge Trent.

Do they like collecting jackoffs?

Kane keen, apparently.
Sources have continued to insist that Spurs will reject any offer for Kane this summer and it remains to be seen if Bayern are willing to go as high as £100m. Levy could decide to accept a slightly lower offer if it means not having to lose the 29-year-old to a Premier League rival.

Spurs can want that, but I cannot see anyone outside the PL offering the purported £100M. Not Bayern, because they know they don’t need to. Spurs won’t want to see Kane in the PL, so it is probably Real Madrid or Bayern in the £60M+ acceptable bidder set. No sign of interest from PSG yet, and Real will be far more interested in Mbappe now that he is in the same contract position as Kane.

Agree about the comedy of Kane living abroad. Maybe Bayern can do one of those ‘All or Nothing’ shows about Kane in Germany to fund the transfer.

Spurs already spending 120-125m this window when you include the deals for Porro & Kuluevsku and that’s even before they’ve sold anyone…

Arsenal throwing out 80-90m to players, first Mudryk, then Caicedo and now Rice…65m on Havertz, 40m on Timber…god knows what else they’ll do, another club that doesn’t need to sell to buy.

Another season of much smaller clubs outspending us considerably again…again over Klopp to overachieve with this squad & then roll on a few months when we start the season like crap and fans are bemused why we’re mid table.

FSG, take note boys…this is how it’s done.

Possibly Bayern would offer Mané as part-ex?

How its done? Spurs having to sign Porro and Kulusevski is a millstone around their necks. They’re about to lose Kane for less than the amount they’ve spent on a couple of decidely average PL players.

If you’re jealous of Arsenal signing Havertz for £20m more than we spent on Cody Gakpo then God bless but I know which player I prefer.

I’m interested in how much Rice eventually goes for. Reported on the BBC that Arsenal have now bid £105m.

I think Rice is a very good midfielder and that whoever signs him gets a natural leader, a bit of drive from midfield and a player who is defensively switched on. He’s an ok passer but not great. He’ll be a valuable addition and rarely gets injured.

The reason I find it interesting though is that I’ve seen him compared to all sorts of all time greats - Gerrard and Keane most noteably - but personally I see James Milner or Gareth Barry, both of whom were brilliant players at least for a time.

And for all the mockery the Conference League has recieved, I don’t think he’s going for the price he is of West Ham didn’t win it. His leadership shone through in those latter stages.

You’ve got to be super rich or super clever in today’s transfer market but in the case of Rice I don’t see a generational, game changing player, I see a very very good midfielder like Gareth Barry commanding the fee that would be paid to sign an all time great.

I think we can do it cheaper, honestly. There are players out there that we can get cheaper who can deliver what these other teams are paying a premium for.

I think this is the home-grown premium. There are only so many top-class home.grown players and he is clearly one of the better ones.

£40m homegrown premium :joy:

Maximiliano Caufriez from Sparkat Moscow to Clermont for €3.5m.
Mathias Rasmussen from Brann to Union SG for €1.2m.
Matus Bero from Vitesse to Bochum on a free.
Omar Mascarell from Elche to Mallorca for €800k.
Giovani from Palmeiras to Al-Sadd for €9m.
Marco Sportiello from Atalanta to Milan on a free.
Fabio Chiarodia from Werder to Monchengladbach for €2m.

BREAKING: Manchester City have pulled out of the race for Declan Rice and will not match or surpass Arsenal’s latest bid.

City might have to go for one of our targets now.

They have Rodri, don’t think they’re under that much pressure to bring someone in at all.

Imagine being forced to play the other England international they signed for £50m a year ago… -_-
