He looked good for 45 minutes in a friendly. He could take the position that Nat Phillips has in the squad but he needs experience. Maybe he could get some game time in the Europa League? Essentially we are looking for a Matip replacement. It’s possible that could happen in January if someone suitable is available.

Why would two English clubs deal in euros? 
Seriously, though, it’s an insane fee for a player who has yet to play a single minute in the Premier League. Potential is vastly overpriced these days.
