Summer Transfer Window 2023

I wonder if they hoover up ffree talent to reduce pool available to other clubs, without injecting money into other clubs by paying exhorbitant wages on free deals which are then used to justify the high prices they sign unwanted Newcastlev players for?

Jefferson Lerma from Bournemouth to Palace on a free, 4-year deal.

Probably the most Saudi signing of the lot.

The number on his shirt is that the millions of euros he’ll make during his 2 year contract?

 Not sure about euros but probably not far off it in dinars, dirhams, durhams or whatever they use out there.

They probably changed their currency to durhams now they own Newcastle :grinning::grinning:

They turned their attention to Thurman on the request of Mbappe but Lequipe seem to think it is a no go as there are quite a few players already playing on that side of the pitch unless he is interested in warming the bench for quite a while

Uma?

Or Ummah, if in the Middle East.

That doesn’t make much sense, because PSG were pretty thin in that area of the pitch this season, especially when they had injuries. Now, Messi is off, Neymar could be off (though 2 more years left on his deal), Ekitike will probably to back to his parent club (PSG have option to buy, but not sure they’ll do it) and Mbappe is in the last year of his deal. PSG actually wanted a new central striker last summer, but didn’t get one. They might view Marcus Thuram as someone who could be in contention to start central while Mbappe is still there and then gives them the possibility to move him on the left, in Mbappe’s position when he leaves.

Is this the end of Messi in Europe…

:pensive:

From the BEEB:

‘We were one week away from a world where Lionel Messi was managed by Phil Neville.’

Had it happened, you wouldn’t have heard the end of it.

I wonder if that was the reason :joy:

After all it took them long enough to realise he was terrible.

Maximilian Mittelstadt from Hertha to Stuttgart for €3m.

Ibrahimovic retired, Ronny and Messi out to pasture.
Bellingham to Real.
It feels like a changing of the guard.
