Any free CBs out there?
Highest profile one I can think of is Takehiro Tomiyasu formerly of Arsenal but not sure how far along he is in recovering from the knee injury that kept him out last season.

How much would Guehi cost in January?
Will be very reluctant to move Grav from his preferred position and he’s so vital there. But definitely an option that makes sense. Think it’ll be Robertson and Williams before though. Not very comfortable with Endo as option there honestly.
Just hope VVD and Konate remain fit till Jan at the very least.

I think if we have to use anyone it will be Robertson.
Luckily Dom seems to be able to do right back 
But yeah I wouldn’t risk Gomez or the other two outside of the PL and CL games.

That’s the interesting knock on…Gomez now becomes less of an option to fill in at RB because we really have to cover him in cotton wool now and only use him at CB and when needed.

Well he’s only our fit decent CB sub so we should keep them available for our PL/CL games I don’t think it’s a wild thought.
And our majority of games are PL and CL games, I’m suggested he’s rested for 3 games at most in the league cup before we can access reinforcements in Jan.
Out there idea, if we are looking for a short term CB, and I feel fucking filthy for saying this, but what about Kurt Zuma on a 12 month deal?
Experience CB that is available on a free and would slide in as cover in the P/L and domestic cups, freeing VVD, Konate and Gomez to be available to rotate for the C/L
We just need to keep the Anfield Cat away from him

I read somewhere that cat abuser’s knees are all messed up, and he could not chase after cats anymore. So you want him to be a traffic cone for LFC defending?
I hadn’t heard about his knees.
Hence why many (including the club) wanted another CB (even if just to replace JoGo).
Joel Matip probably is in a better condition to play CB than Zouma and Matip is retired.
As Jurgen said, it’s better to have a hole than an arsehole.
And look how that panned out the last time we took that sort of risk with not bringing in reenforcements for the defense when we needed it.
I love Jurgen, but lets not pretend he got every decision right every time, and if we need to take that risk, I would rather bring someone in on a 12 month contract to ensure we don’t end up fucked like what happened on 20/21.
But as @CanuckoLFC pointed out, Zumas’ knees are fucked, so I’m happy to bin the idea if that is the case - but with just senior 3 CB’s and 2 of them not having the greatest history when it comes to picking up injuries we need to bring in some cover for the season.

I’m always in the opinion that we need 5 CBs.
We won the league with 4 before but I’m not prepared to divert from my view.
We really needed to go in to this season with 5 CBs. Not 3 and a utility player in Gomez (not least a Gomez who’s about to go injured at anytime)
