Chelsea reportedly had their bid for Gittens turned down, and may not be going after Maignan now (Guardian).

This on top of news they dont look to be closing a deal for Ekitike any time soon. I wonder if they are being more relaxed about their targets or having more difficulty in closing them.

Top young players often have a borderline delusional level of confidence in themselves and that is why players like Scott Parker end up going to Chelsea when every man and his dog knows he isn’t going to ever play. You would think that eventually even that youthful confidence give way to a clear eyed view of what a career dead end the club is for the majority of players. Especially for young players whose reputation might be irreparably harmed by their next move being a bad one. Maybe that is what is finally kicking in?

It sounds like Gittens agreed personal terms with them, but they couldn’t agree a fee with Dortmund.

Yeah but that doesnt agree with the point I wanted to make, so

Are we missing a thing?

Surely the English clubs should be all over this transfer even if Dortmund has a reputation for being good for a players career

We’ve been linked with him for several years, as have other clubs. I think he is just following in his brother’s footsteps to get guarenteed playing time at a higher level and continue his development.

Gjivai Zechiel from Feyenoord to Utrecht on loan.
Ahmed Touba from Basaksehir to Panathinaikos for €1m.
Franco Mastantuono from River Plate to Real Madrid for €45m.

On a lighter note, We need to to buy this lad and loan him to Brighton. He will be worth 100 million next season or will be a started for us. Brighton scouting is one of the best.

The good thing about Chelsea is they can sign all the players they want it’s got to the point where you can’t really decipher what changes for them.

Their scouting is probably on par with ours. The difference is that they can afford to give their talent the time on the pitch because they aren’t expected to be challenging for the title. We don’t have that liberty

Atalanta have activated the option to buy Odion Kossounou from Leverkusen for €20m.
Luca Marianucci from Empoli to Napoli for €9m.
Jakob Napoleon Romsaas from Tromso to Charleroi for €2m.

Like 210 years ago, Napoleon crosses the Sambre river in secrecy into Charleroi, while Wellington is throwing banquets in Brussels.
