I expected he would be more expensive, to be honest.

I suppose there is a chance he is actually more expensive than that but Man City are finding a creative way of paying, accounting and reporting their financial activities - though that would seem rather out of character …
Is he a very good player?? Havent seen a lot of him. Fabrizio and others say that with add-ons the deal will be 70 million Euros.
At his best, and as he played for most of this past season, you can see what he adds to a City midfield that had become too easy to play against. At 26 though he doesnt have a long track record of performing at that level.
Unilateral options often include a kicker for the player. It is possible there is something like a penalty payable to him (like a loyalty bonus) if they execute the extension only for the purpose of protecting his transfer value and then sell him that same summer.
So in the end 35 million for a player entering his final year isnt bad at all.
“A strange decision by Wolves”
I’m sure a few brown envelopes were involved somewhere along the line.
So much for those who claim to be ITK.

They’re a bottomless pit how are they allowed to stockpile that many players?
What astonishes me is that the players they will sign this window know they are not going play a lot.

Given that it only really impacts City and Chelsea for registering players to be eligible for the Club World Cup it seems rather unnecessary but the BBC are giving it the full deadline day live text treatment: Transfer news latest LIVE: Clubs look to sign players before Tuesday's deadline - BBC Sport
Ladies and gentlemen - start your plane trackers, less than 12 hours to go before the window slams shut!
