could also go with when the goal that stopped the chosen team from winning was scored,
not sure how that would work with a nil nil tho,

100% yes! Another round would be great.
Yeah thatâs fine but how am I suppose to crawl back up from this for the next round?
Three left! @cynicaloldgit, @Trader and @Iftikhar
Next set of fixtures, with odds. As discussed above, in the event of a tie to decide the winner (ie everyone gets knocked out in the same round), the player who chose the team with the longest odds of winning will be declared the winner.

What if the same teams are picked?
@Kopstar ffigjsgoug
That doesnât answer my question. What if the posters who are tied picked the same team?
I think he means if 2 posters both pick 1 team
Again, open to suggestions here.

Potential ideas:
- if itâs down to just a few people, as now, if more than one picks a team, then also pick which of the teams in that match-up will score first (if itâs 0-0 then I still donât know).
- split the honour of victory between the last men standing.
Force those with the same first choice to pick a second (different) team as a tie breaker? If still even both go into the next round?
Last man standing wrestle match?
Instead of having a winner why donât you just do points for the final 3 and keep track on a weekly basis.
Ie
1st get 10pts
2nd get 5pts
3rd get 3pts
and then roll the comp for X amount of weeks to get an overall winner?
So if you all go out this week you would all get 10 points, if one goes out they get 3 points and the other two play for the 1st spot
Save hassle then.
Its easier in the workplace as you play for cash, so everyone who is out is now dying for everyone to get knocked out so the cash rolls over to the next game.
If two people pick the same team, whoever picked them first wins.
Not keen on that one, as weâre then dealing with time zones, and penalising people for not visiting the forum as frequently as others.
I think we see what happens. If the last 2-3 people end up picking different teams each round (which in theory should become more likely the longer it goes on) all well and good, if two or more pick the same team Iâll then ask them to pick a tie-breaker team.
For clarity, the tie-breaker is in the event the first-chosen team loses, obviously if they win then everyone who picked them progress to the next round.
Still waiting for those teams guys
Ooh. Thatâs given me an idea.
Adding more for me to do, but how about we award points for each round you get to (which increase over the course of a tournament), and then we have a league table to keep track of everyoneâs ongoing tally. People who win an individual tourney still win, but at the end of the season thereâd be an overall winner/s to lord it over everyone else.
Thinking 1 point for all those who made it through the first round, 2 points for second round, 3 for third etc, and maybe 10 points for the eventual tourney winner.
Thoughts?

Sounds good but as itâs a new rule this first round shouldnât count towards the total tally.
Nice try
I would say top 5 get points max, makes it more of an achievement to be on the leaderboard and less work for you to do tallying points wise but up to you it;'s your baby.
Plus wouldnât that make it better for people who are looking to join if we are half way through

Hm. It depends how far they get, if someone wins in round 6 getting five points would be a slap in the face
Maybe a bonus three points for the winner on top of whatever points they got from reaching that particular round.
And I say this as someone who is looking at 1 point from the first tourney
I think bearing in mind how many went out so quickly this time I donât think that should be too much of a deterrent for those who werenât in this one (thereâs going to be loads still on 0 or 1, basically).
Hm. Or maybe no bonus points for winning, as the winner will by default be getting the most points from that tourney anyway.
My expectation is that weâre going to see at most half a dozen rounds in each tourney given how unpredictably this season is shaping up.
