Howling!

The first 12-team play offs have been finalized and my take home is it has killed the conference championship games. The SEC, Big 10, and ACC all had championship games this weekend where the loser made the playoffs regardless. I get not punishing teams for losing in what is a bonus game against a good opponent, but with the additional games required from the playoff this increasingly feels like a round of games that should be eliminated.

Yeah, a change that was sold as broadening the field has turned into an insurance policy for the usual names. Sure, Boise State got into the field, but largely it has meant that the big names can now survive a bad late season loss that would have been terminal before.

What did Khalil Dorsey go down with? I was switching between the Eagles and the Bills games. I go back to the Bills game and the commentators are saying, ‘Our condolences go out to his family…’.

I’m thinking the lad’s died on the field, but turns out he’s just fucked his leg.

If da Bears don’t lose by 50 tonight, I will stand by my Super Bowl 2026 prediction.

Have we ever talked about the Purple People Eaters?

Probably not, but it was always a dumb name for the Vikings D line. The purple people eater was not a purple eater of people, but an eater of purple people. It would have been a better name for a team who had an unusual level of sacks/harries of Minnesota

I met Alan Page when I was in university. I was simultaneously stunned that I was bigger than him and in awe of his presence. Incredibly impressive man, I just always assumed he would tower over me.

Raiders are trying their absolute best to lose this game and the Falcons are still barely hanging on :joy:

So, this shit with Cousins was entirely predictable (and predicted) and precisely why the outrage over the Pennix pick was so weird to me. The issue was not the draft pick, but the Cousins contract, but you dont avoid taking a QB in the draft you think could be a franchise leader just because you’ve anchored yourself to an old and injured guy. That would be compounding the Cousins mistake.

Pete Carroll expresses interest in da Bears coaching job. Knowing my luck and this franchise’s history, I’m guessing Biden will emerge the winner.
