SBYM just asked a question in the UK politics thread. Asked why the protesters at Dover were wearing balaclavas.
I put forward what I considered to be a reasonable explanation as to why they may have worn them.
The post was deleted straight away.

You used exactly the sort of inflammatory generalisation we’ve told people we’re clamping down on (“far right fascists and bigots”).
And before you cry foul or look to martyr yourself, you might want to consider that I deleted a post of Mascot’s yesterday for what I felt was negatively generalising the people that voted for Brexit.
Feel free to reread the opening post if you need a reminder of the thread rules.
They won’t be explained again. But continued moaning about them being applied will result in suspensions.

That’s just not true though is it.
SBYM asked why the balaclava’s.
I described why a particular group of people might have been there and why they may have felt the need to wear them.
The “far right fascists and bigots” part is relevant to the point. It’s a big world out there you know, and sites like this are pretty insignificant in the scheme of things. I didn’t imply anyone on here would be labelling them, I doubt any of them post on here or even know this site exists.
But maybe in the real world they are sick of being labelled? Is that not a possibility? Do you not think it possible they might resent that without being aware of TAN? There are people out there who wont hesitate to use those slurs and maybe they just can’t be arsed with it anymore.
My post was made in good faith.
