Don’t go please:pray:.
It’s probably a fucking clementine, you pair of satsumas.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Whats happened here then…
World Cup apathy?
Its very confusing:scream:
Hello there…what’s this pink dot near the " speech bubble"…I press on it…and it goes to in game chat…help I’m confused…
Cheers…thought I’d done clicked on something I shouldn’t.
Bloody hell…its changed again…gggrrrrr
Virtually impossible to read the black wording/text when it is written upon a deep green background - Mostly guessing what the the categories are at the moment…!
You can select your own background/font etc from a range of options, though to be honest I don’t know where ISMF has hidden that now.
Change is bad
edit: OK, worked it out. Click on your personal icon, should be upper right. Select the ‘person’ button at the bottom of the button stack, on the righthand side of the pulldown that appeared. Select the Preferences gear button from the horizontal menu that should have shown up. Click on Interface, where you can select a theme, change the colour scheme, and change the text size.
@CanuckoLFC is another poster who has disappeared from the boards.
The way I parallel this forum with the vast array of forumites that contribute to the content… Is that it reminds me of being in a crowded pub full of differing personalities, age range, and contrasting opinions on every subject under the sun.
Sitting at a table with evidence of a full nights worth of drinking having taken place and looking like a good night was being had by all. Half consumed glasses both big and small with differing colours and shades of individual and particular choice nectar within. Froth clinging to the insides to give an indication of how fast or how much liquid is being downed with each gulp. Empty glasses stacked awaiting collection, or to be taken back to the bar by someone whose sequential turn has arrived to buy the next round. Bottles of beer, lager or cider with a panoply of differing labels that have arrived at their final destination of purpose from various locations throughout the globe… Hustle, bustle, noise levels increasing as more bodies pack into the boozer… Hive of activity and obviously a popular place to be.
Separate conversations being carried out on many differing subjects at the same time… Noise, tone and pitch coming together and being carried in the air space to form one similar sounding din.
Upon this loaded drinks table will normally be people that are accustomed to each other and with that their quirky ways are well known. These will normally be friends, colleagues, neighbours or an acquaintance or two in general. Things will be said/slurred, arguments can start, insults can be slung, punches can be thrown, but the right type of peacemaker amongst the troupe will settle stuff down quickly and things can be somehow resolved and brought back to normal in a very short time. There will be individuals that walk into the pub; and we will all have done this; you begin to hope they settle on the diametrically opposing table on the other side of the pub, because you just know this individual is not someone you want anywhere near your table or in your company that night…!
Scoping the bar, you see regular faces adorning the same regular tables, seats or areas, you know some of their history. New faces seeming awkward and unsettled in new surroundings until regular status can apply… The extroverts, the introverts, the opinionated know-alls, the loud-mouths, the deep thinkers, the academically well-educated, the street-wise ‘university of life’ duckers and divers, the well mannered, the ill-mannered, the courteous, the ‘turn your face into a hamburger’ obnoxious…
In short, it is what it is… LIFE.!
Hence, teleporting back to the forum we never know what is going-on in anyone’s life… or behind closed doors… at any particular time of night or day… There is also the time difference across different continents that adds to the mood… Just finishing scoffing four Weetabix for ya breakfast and posting away while in dispute or at odds to someone just finishing off a bottle of Brandy as a nightcap…
It is amazing how this conduit of communication can actually happen. It also amazing the knowledge, insight, points of view, tips and assistance that is on hand within this community… Jeeez you don’t even have to venture out of the house to have a craic with someone… and be it someone whom you have never met either.
However, personally, I do feel we have lost some good posters on here this year, though obviously, for many differing reasons - @BigJon - is one that springs to mind, and one of the many that has disappeared, albeit just recently… The danger to the site the way I see it… Losing good people and certain others from TAN, may well end up to the detriment of each and every one of us that logs onto the site for some good camaraderie and latest gossip… Suppose it would eventually be akin to going back into a pub that hardly gets any customers… a crap pub, a crap atmosphere, a crap talentless entertainment card up on stage, and a crap night to be had by all…
As the ‘Goodwill to all Men’ Christmas mantra is fast approaching, is there any suggestions that can be put forward to mods/admin for taking a pro-active measure in bringing these stalwarts of the site back into the community… the good and not so-good posters shall we say… OR is it just viewed as an inevitable cycle of re-generation…! The one door closes but another one opens logic…
I know as a company, if we lost good people, we would pull out all the stops to get them back at some future date if it was the company as a whole that benefitted from this course of action…
Not sure letting/leaving things be is the best way forward to be honest…
Just putting it out there is all…
I know we can be nasty sometimes to each other but hey look on the bright side…
I agree to a large extent.
Where I do differ is an analogy with company. TAN is a labour of love, a community, like I said at start created by fans for fans. A non profit, where we are all invested.
If I got hit by a bus tomorrow the site would continue. (No kidding the admins all have step by step instructions what to do).
How this site evolves is up to the community (not in an Elon Musk poll way) but how we change and grow I would say there is a onus on all of us it’s our site. Myself and the other admins are more like custodians. Making sure we maintain our core values.
It’s sad to see posters leave, I think for most past it’s normal turnover (frequently personal circumstances). The challenge is high quality replacements. We have also seen some poster return after long absences.
I know I am biased but for my money better than any other Liverpool site. That’s based upon the community rather than anything else.
But I am in no way opposed to the community helping grow forum numbers.
We don’t know @Scott.Jones @Alright_Now etc could be locked up for murder or even attempted murder
Plot twist: this is the forum where serial killers gather to share tips.
