Your post regarding that contemptuous bollox was an attempt at mystery and intrigue with the “revelations” comment.
Why do I feel the need to respond? Because its a forum and you opened the discussion. If you don’t want a response, then don’t post.

I shared views with Cynicaloldgit, but his presence on the forum was in the end, toxic. His online persona was at best irritating, at worst insulting.
You were/are part of his disciples group. Thats all fine and good, knock yourself out.
But bringing a banned member to lunch will raise the odd hackle or query. I’m sure you understand that? Coherent enough?
He was clearly very depressed and probably quite lonely, but his online schtick was, indeed, often tiresome, and a shield behind which he was frequently rude and abusive. A lot of it was just boring. How often can you say ‘people are fuckwits’ before you find a new catchphrase?
He was right about neoliberalism, but did that excuse the rest? Probably not.
Human beings are complicated. And while I like him (but he annoyed me too to the point where I told him to fuck off, several times, but eh), many others can’t stand him . I understand this and respect this. I was a bit distraught when he was banned and also voiced that (I also realise that I had and probably have, blind spots due to being too fascinated by what I regarded as “role playing”), but in retrospect, he did kind of suicide into that ban, which I think he knows well himself. But it’s done and dusted.
I don’t think it’s particularly fruitful to debate the human errors, percieved and real, of people who are no longer here though. He is not here to defend himself after all.
Yeah, I don’t disagree at all. But I must be careful to remain objective, so would rather not discuss him. Everyone and their little dog, knows that I have some issues with him. It’s no secret, but I try to avoid interaction.
Looks like he last posted at the end of June. He lives in Scotland, so it’s possible he’s just been on holiday. I expect we will see a few returning faces when the season starts.

I don’t know. I read him write that he was leaving due to what he percieved to be lack of initial condemnation of the guy who drove into the trophy crowd and that he was outraged that he was given the benefit of the doubt by many (including me, I guess, because I honestly thought it was a tragic accident when I first saw the video, since it didn’t look like a terror attack to my eye then).
But others claim he left because of Off Topic jokes or something. I don’t know.
He left because he was thoroughly pissed off with every thread being hijacked with the same old shit by a group of posters. Fortunately one of them has been shown the door and things have improved since. It certainly would be nice to see him back now.
