We thought that giving everyone the second tier of trust levels would mean they would be treated as established accounts, but I just found some settings that apply to new accounts for 24 hours regardless of trust level. I just modified some of those so that people don’t hit those limits as easily, but in any case I think they disappear after 24 hours.

At the moment its open, people can browse what every thread they like (only category hidden is mods/admins one)

Might change in future, but its not something considered at any depth.

FWIW, I don’t see any reason why the community would want to restrict what is visible to unregistered browsers of the site. Ideally if they see the range of topics on TAN they will be more inclined to register and participate – I wonder if that might be something that held back TIA?

Edit: :wave: @Arminius, interesting to see that the page tells you when someone else is replying in real time!

1 minor thing I’ve noticed. When you change devices it reverts back to the default theme of Red/Red.

Is it possible for a chosen theme to be kep on a profile so it carries across different devises wherever you log in from?

Thinking about it more I can see why some websites do it. For example if you lived in Hong Kong/China and you dont want political content/opinion flagged. I have seen some forums use it as a perk (we will not do this and have ruled that out), other forums use it for something like birds and boobs thread :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yes.

If you click on your Avatar, then click Cog, Preferences. Then on window that opens up click on “Interface”

There is a tick box button:
“Make this the default theme on all my devices”

Also want cool feature when a thread gets over 50 posts.

If you look at the first post there is “Summarise this Topic” button.

This gives you just the best posts of the thread.

Is there a way to get rid of the “top posts” on the right hand side as they have no relation to the topics on the left?
