Did anyone figure out why, yet.
I’ve seen this occasionally on friendlies before, but never confirmed why. Possibly just penalty practice where it’s a bit more pressure than the training ground?
Ah - from Arsenal.com and related to the Women’s team but obviously still relevant.
"Penalties are actually something we’ve been working on. It’s how we’ve been finishing our pre-season games. Regardless of the result, we’ve been doing penalty shoot-outs to prepare ourselves for the situation that could very much occur in the knock-out stages because of the format. It’s something we’ve been preparing ourselves for in case that happened.
Going on that , this will be his first and last season playing PL football.
He has had so much pressure built on him the poor lad, if the description in this article is indeed true I would be worried if I was them. That’s a massive gamble.
Who are you talking about @mattyhurst
Their new striker as a dyslexic I’m not bothering spelling it
I can’t even say it, never mind spell it.
I’m looking forward to the new season kicking off so I can go with the flow on a couple of pronunciations.
At least on this forum, our players tend to get scousified so it’s just a Szobso or Virg that you have to worry about. Or for that matter Cody, because no one ever gets that right and after the first mistake the autocorrect is buggered.

Muduke in and Trossard out makes arsenal worse.
I wonder if they’re cooking something else
Just reading the BBC predictions thread, Arsenal have an immensely tough first 6 games:
Man Utd A
Leeds H
Liverpool A
Forest H
City H
Newcastle A
I expect if they aren’t somewhat off the pace after those games then they can be considered serious title contenders.
Trossard always caused us problems when on the pitch
Unless they suffer with injuries. That’s the only thing that’s stopping them from winning the league.
They’d still be the best team and deserve the trophy.,![]()
Cue Chelsea revealing their master plan to buy Arsenal and send the rest of their flops to North London
The flip to that is you look at that list and think dropping points in 4 of those games is not unrealistic which could see Arteta facing serious questions about if he is the right person for the job
They drop points in any and those tiktok YouTube wankers will be seeking viral garbage.
From the Guardian’s football countdown …
Mikel Arteta has got his calculator out again. Ahead of Sunday’s game with Manchester United, he had this to say: “If you keep digging, digging and digging, then one day the gold is going to be there. All the time, it is what I have been taught my whole life. For the last three seasons we have more points [combined] than anybody else in the league and that says a lot about our consistency. Now we just have to do it in a season.”
Dean Haigh has this to say on Mikel Arteta: “[He] might need to check a (second..?) calculator, or to stop digging and/or clutching at straws. For the last three seasons Arsenal HAVEN’T won more points combined than anybody else in the league. Predictably, they’re in second…”
Yeah, 4 points worse off than City in that time.
If we take just the last two, we are top, 3 points ahead of them so maybe that means we actually won back to back titles?
You will never find gold if you dig in the wrong place..!
