It wasn’t a blocked shot I was referring to it was the mention of Kerkez tackle.
Liverpool’s expected goals was a shade higher than Arsenal but really low at just over .53 with Arsenal on .49, they had one shot on target to our three but shaded our shot total by 2. They created very little of note and nethier did we bar the super strike, advantage us.
Lots of stuff in this video not Arsenal related so apologies may be its the wrong thread but I put it here because of a bit they had on Gyokeres (and Arteta’s comments on his signing ) - and I know how highly @Limiescouse rates Gyokeres
I literally came to post the same thing! Wife and I recently finished White Lotus season 3… As always, he’s a scene-stealer, playing a rather… Colourful character. His wife was one of the main cast if I’m not mistaken, I wonder what she meant of his delivery of certain lines.
They seem so solid at the back. Just 1 goal conceded till now against us which was from a stunning free kick. Defense wins titles and they now have Mosquera who looks solid replacement for helping out when Saliba/ Gabriel are injured.
They don’t have any excuses not to win something big this season. They have a squad good enough to cover for multiple competitions and injuries. I really hope they don’t though.
Agreed. The trajectory seems to be there in getting closer and closer before a team wins it. They seem to be making progress every season. The brand of football may be boring but it’s effective. Would have been less worried if their defense was fragile but they are so mean at the back. And it’s not like they don’t have the quality in attack even if Arteta refuses to use it to the optimum. But maybe that’s what keeping their defensive structure this strong.
I’m not so sure. I think ‘their year’ was 23/24 - that’s when they seemed to be closest, and they should have won the league. It probably also coincided with them playing their best football.
They were nowhere near us last season. We won the league at a canter.
I think there has been a regression in terms of playing style. They have totally retreated into their ‘keep it tight and win a set piece’ approach and the football has become really negative and control oriented. I’m not sure you can a league playing like that.
Thing is attack did cost them and they’ve basically bolstered there goal tally against Leeds and Ange balls Forest.
Man Utd can’t finish their lunch at the moment but really could and should have scored in that opening game.
Attack will again be what decides it for them, their defence didn’t cost them the title last season.
Defence is probably what decides it for us, which was the positive from the Arsenal game for me, can’t comment on Burnley they had that one attack in the first half I can remember that they put over from 18 yards out.
Bournemouth and Newcastle are no slouches in defence to be fair and we put 7 past them.
