Not just that. Arteta has come up with something hitherto unheard of in the game of football. The substitution. ![]()
I mean, scoring goals from set pieces, bringing on substitutes who make a difference. Will football ever be the same?

Furthermore on this I’m not buying the us as favourites I just can see the flaws in both teams, Gyorekes will pad but the two big games so far he’s looked lost.
City is a big game for him and them. City aren’t off the boil like last season but they are beatable. If Arteta goes for a must not lose type approach it again shows more his limitations. And managers like that have won the league but then if there are others willing to win every game you end up winning nothing.
Yeah, their defensive solidity is what worries me when it comes to the title race (I won’t comment on CL just yet, I never know what to expect there, especially in this new format). I mean, it usually takes time to achieve it but, aside from their trip to Old Trafford, they looked excellent in that regard.
They are also winning games without Saka, who’s been unreal for them over the past three seasons, while Jesus and Havertz are still unavailable. Their defensive brand of football has also helped them achieve pretty good results against top six clubs, so when you combine all of that, it is a worrying prospect. I hope that delusional aspects of their fanbase and the crumbling pressure induced by the lack of trophies will prevail, though, and lead them to another season without PL or CL.
I hope so. Patience is not something I am used to seeing from other clubs so this worries me. We’ll get to know soon though if they continue winning without really trying anything outside of set pieces and how they pivot if it doesn’t work out.
I am not concerned about us one bit though. Their biggest challenge is us slipping else they are not getting anywhere close. But in CL you can never say. Draws, luck lot of things come in play. But I really hope their fans lose their patience with Arteta if they don’t win CL or PL at minimum and the media puts that pressure given they now don’t have any excuses.
City will tell us a fair I reckon.
When have Arsenal not looked solid at the back recently?
That was never their problem. Scoring, creating enough was/is their downfall and that doesn’t seem to have changed much, despite the wealth of talent at hand.
Arteta is giving off Mourinho vibes; and not of the successful one.
How do you measure that? Because I’d say that every fanbase has a % of that. Some could be even trolls (oh, sorry blue ticks…) with nothing clever to do, just to wind up.

If Arteta is right, how come they keep coming second?
Arsenal should win this season’s Prem at a canter then.
It’s 2nd nature to them…
Feels like this weekend’s game is a real mental test for Arteta. Time after time, when faced with a ‘big game’, he has succumbed to the urge to play it safe instead of going for the jugular. Arsenal fans seem to feel it will be different this time.
Tomorrow will be the first time I’ve ever wanted City to win.
If they do and lose they have a ear risk of mentally spiraling uncertain of how to approach games moving forward the way we did under Houllier the basil game
Even a draw is probably a disaster in that light - there isn’t going to be a better opportunity to put up a big win that facing an erratic Citeh at the Emirates.
And watch that fucking fanbase go up in flames.

And they wonder why they have so many injuries.
It’s not even hard to find Slot’s plan with Isak he said it at least two press conferences now.
The fact of the late equalizer takes the sting out of the result, but that has to now put some real doubt in the back of their minds.
Some nice sarcasm there..
