The Corona Pandemic

Have you folks suffered any side effects after taking the vaccine?

No, my upper left arm was a little tender and minor flu/cold symptoms for a day or two but other than that no. My wife has had her vaccine and had same symptoms but more severe. Again was fine within a couple of days. My parents have had their vaccine and didn’t report any ill effects.

I had almost nothing (a slight pain/stiffness after few hours) while my sister had fever for a day or two. I guess the side effects vary person to person (does it vary according to the vaccine!) and their respective physicality. But jeez, some people can whine at nothing and everything.

My parents and I all had the Oxford/Astrazeneca vaccine. My wife, the Pfizer. I don’t think I have heard of the vaccines varying in side effects but they might do. I suspect it is more a person to person variation.

That’s my thinking too. Physical conditions are different.

If you follow some of the European commentary on this (not official, granted) I think you’ve got about an 80% chance of the AstraZeneca vaccine giving you the side effect of dying. Something like that. [This is a joke, obviously - the vaccines are perfectly safe]

I have to say I never thought that the EU would actually go through with stopping shipments of the vaccines to countries. I would consider this tortious interference if I was AZ. Given that it’s the latest damaging intervention from the EU, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if AZ were getting very close to holding the EC in repudiatory breach and terminating its agreement.

Obviously, that would be an extremely bad move from AZ from a PR perspective but there’s going to come a point where the EC have just pushed this too far.

Check out the illiterate/brainwashed replies from many of those in the EU :man_facepalming:

The vaccines have very different adjuvants. Pfizer for example has an adjuvant that causes mild allergic type reactions in 1 in 200 cases (rashes and hives (itching), that’s enormous however it is also the reason for the efficacity of that vaccine. The reactions to the active ingredient could well be very similar.
These side effects shouldn’t last more than about 5 days even the mild allergic reaction.

I’ve just had the Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccine this morning. So far, so good, no reaction to it.

France getting all Italian now as well

Just an update on what I mentioned about punishments, so this group of Britons who broke the group size gathering law are now charged and the first one has been banned from working in Singapore and others will likely follow suit unless there are some strong mitigating factors

Easy win for the UK

Equally, the EU must be wondering why we couldn’t already have helped them out. Might be meaningful if they were using even half the supplies they already have. EU really making friends and influencing people.

There’s only a couple, maybe a few of the EU countries not using their full compliment of the AZ vaccine i would imagine. Most countries would be using them for under 65’s at least.

Actually, take up of AZ across the EU is pretty shit. I think I posted some stats on it earlier but if not will try and find where I saw the breakdown and post.

Does the EU not have an irony filter or something?

The European Commission told the Financial Times: “We trust that we can work together with the US to ensure that vaccines produced or bottled in the US for the fulfilment of vaccine producers’ contractual obligations with the EU will be fully honoured.”

The EU move comes after it emerged this week that Italy and the commission had blocked a shipment of AstraZeneca jabs to Australia. That stoked global tensions and fears of vaccine hoarding.

This wasn’t the one I saw but this is from the Guardian

Sweden had used 26.5%, Austria 25.1%, Italy 19%, Germany 13%, France 11%, Belgium 4%, Bulgaria 1.73%.

In contrast, Belgium, Italy and Germany had used over 80% of their Pfizer doses.

How fucking tall is this cunt walking next to the Queen?!

Gotta bear in mind that the Queen is 6’2".
