Finally got to my age group and have first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech today.
2nd Astra Zeneca jab this morning. Taking Paracetamol already, hopefully this will prevent the temperature and headache I had with the first one.
Yesterdays numbers 141.683, we surpassed the 8m mark.
Germany - 40% have had at least one vaccine
They’re setting a good pace now. Slightly ahead of the EU as a whole (34%).
For comparison the US is at 48% and the UK is at 55%.
Germany now up to 13% fully vaxed. The EU is at 14.5% so it seems that Germany is prioritising getting as many with at least one jab as possible. The US is at 40% fully vaxed, the UK 32%.
Blimey, I know he’s been having a decent season and everything but Canada’s even named a square after him…
You’d have to say it’s deserved
Here it is going a bit slowly. 29.6% 1 dose, 13.87% fully vaccinated. But importantly, almost everyone in the so called risk zone have been given jabs, so Oslo is opening up on Wednesday for instance. It’s going to be very, very good for the service sector, as restaurants and the like has struggled a lot.
The Mem had second AZ jab yesterday - unfortunately she has the same flu like symptoms as after the first jab. Hopefully it won’t last too long for her, and that you suffer no ill effects!
Fortunately, I’ve been ok this time. I think taking Paracetamol, as soon as I had the jab must have helped.
Toronto City Hall/Nathan Phillips Square was also used as film settings. One of which was Resident Evil: Apocalypse, used for the finale scene.
Probably fitting too that it was Racoon City in the movie, since we have so bloody many raccoons!
Back on topic:
For Canada, as of this morning (not all provinces have reported their results yet, we are at 49.8% of population vaccinated (at least one dose. And 57% of 12+ year old population vaccinated). But our fully vaccinated population is only 4.2%.
Will the USA and the UK spare enough, we need at least 10 million jabs, immediately? They are driving their own vaccination program very aggressively.
We were wrong to depend on just one supplier to begin with. I guess our best hope is the Chinese and the Russian vaccines.
What. A. Thread.
