Thanks to you and Noo Noo for posting that information. It clarified a lot of the information - It seems that some (mainly American) people are using the horse version as a substitute for the medically prescribed human version. Which is why the label as a horse de-wormer was applied and promoted.
That was the information I was looking for, especially given the meta analysis that showed it had benefits. Good to know.
No problem, I came across it in surprising circumstances and the first thing that passed my mind was “That doesn’t sound right”
Story in brief is, that there’s a lot of vaccine hesitancy out there, particularly in the US and I’m a member of a couple of facebook groups that discuss a chronic health condition I have. Really useful pages normally (for a change) but there was one person that was fully down the rabbit hole sadly. We’re all going to die in 18 months, from genetic mutation arising from the vaccine, it’s untested, but apparently they still know we’re going to die, and swore by Ivermectin despite there being no real valuable data out there. Soon as I saw that Craig Kelly (Australian MP) was pushing it, I knew things were getting fishy. This person was all for pumping themselves full of this stuff, while having kidney problems and no real scientific data.
I can fully appreciate that people can be really nervous of the vaccine, particularly of you have certain health conditions but to fall completely off the log and go the other direction was kind of mad, sadly. Te situation is made worse by varying information coming from health professionals (doctors, consultants, specialists) again in the US. There are instances where people will need to hold off the vaccine but some are just saying, “don’t have it yet”.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has now been dubbed Comirnaty, the Moderna vaccine will go by SpikeVax and the AstraZeneca vaccine will be named Vaxzevria.

yeah we have received the Comirnaty batch a number of months ago…the brand is reflected in our vaccination status in Singapore too.

Interesting. So now here is the test - will AZ be on the approved list. As I’ve said previously, I’d be stunned if the new rule only applied to US approved vaccines. Loads of reasons why, not least that the agency responsible for approving vaccines in the US are not the same as the one overseeing this rule.

in the worst overeach of the whole lockdown (in this state) last night the state government locked down construction in VIC completely for two weeks.
make no mistake, this is not driven by the health advice, we were able to work (in reduced capacity) through the whole pandemic, this is simply becuase a small group of people, some of which werent even construction workers, marched and protested violently over the mandatory vacination proposal for construction.
i have a no patience for the scenes yesterday…but i understand vacine hesitency.
the problem here isnt one of safety anymore…this is a massive overeach of power…the CFMEU represents (i think) approximately 30,000 construction workers in victoria(144k workers in total) of those paid up members a few marched on their own unions headquarters and shit got real nasty.
the CFMEU really only loosely control the battleground for construction workers around the CDB
how we get from that…to a statewide banning of construction is farcical. my job, which complies with all current rules, and is 45k away from the CDB is now locked down, not becuase of some greater health directive…but becuase of a political stoush.

i know many people have suffered many health and financial issues over the last 18 months which construction in Vic has mainly managed to dodge…but thats not the point…if anything it should be a wake up call…
during the height of the pandemic, we were essential workers who had to work to keep the economy ticking along…now, with vaccines in arms…we are all of a sudden closed on a whim from the state government.

i was good enough to go to work when there was no vaccine insight, some people say ‘allowed’ to work, i might suggest ‘forced’ to work when alot of the rest of the state was paid to stay home because it was too dangerous, now im double dosed and compliant with EVERY health directive they have made and im not allowed to work…hmmmm…

I know this will be met with “oh no not this again” by some people here - but it is important and raises many many questions, not just about the Chinese Governments but Western Govts as well.
I saw a small piece online that led me to this - apparently there is a book and a documentary ready to go. The Australian is a respected news source - I do not know which way its politics lean. At the very least this question demands some serious investigation.
It may be that with 18 intelligence agencies vying against each other, the investigation was never going to come up with a definitive finding. But its failure to do so in the face of compelling evidence that the first human infection “most likely was the result of a laboratory-associated incident, probably involving experimentation, animal handling or sampling by the Wuhan Institute of Virology” demands unrelenting further investigation, as promised by Mr Biden. As Michael McCaul, the top Republican on the US House of Representatives foreign affairs committee, disclosed to Markson: “They (the agencies) didn’t come to a unified conclusion, but … the more credible ones came out stating they did think there was genetic manipulation, that it did not come from animals and that it was leaked accidentally from the lab.” The one thing all 18 intelligence agencies agreed on was China’s culpability in persistently refusing to be upfront with investigations into the provenance of the virus.

Fauci: AstraZeneca jab should not be ‘problem’ for US travel

Dr Anthony Fauci, President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, says it is his belief the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine should be accepted by the US under its new travel rules.
The American regulator does not currently recommend the vaccine for use in the US, but Dr Fauci says he knows there is a lot of data available on the jab.
Dr Fauci tells BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that without being definitive about it “I would predict that there will not be a problem there”, although he says the final decision rests with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
He says given the fact the situation in the US is comparable with so many other countries, including the UK, the government wants to have a uniform policy of requiring vaccinations and testing.
“I think that makes things much less complicated and I believe it really is the kind of thing which would be acceptable to most countries,” he says.
Dr Fauci also says that the sooner we get the world vaccinated the “greater the chance we will get of not allowing variants to emerge”. He says it is less to do with travel and more to do with getting everyone vaccinated.
