The Corona Pandemic

So in the futures we all look like pin cushions?

I think the liklihood is “we” (society) gives up on them. If there evidence already of waning effectiveness then it’s happening on a timeline that would make it a multiple times a year thing. I just cannot see people being arsed with that, especially given that it isnt without side effects.

Depends if we get a really nasty strain as well I guess. That is likely to motivate people.

Living with the disruption looks like a new norm.

Tbf, I can tell just by looking at her that I’d probably forgive her.

Well… it seems that the Fins are the most advanced in all aspects of political life, having such a stunner as their PM included…

Just saw that the UK is tightening restrictions - at precisely the time willingness to trust the government/PM must be at an all-time low across the entire political spectrum. Not sure that that is going to work well.

It will be fine. Boris can blame others all over again.

Yep, just brought my booster forward by a couple of weeks. Clear the government is concerned about this as its throwing more and more resources at it. I expect us now to be hitting over 3.5 million jabs a week for the next few weeks at least.

Going to try a walk in this afternoon but I suspect I’ll be lucky. Our local chemist posted that they had a few spare on a first come first serve basis.

Saw comments reportedly from Gove that the most recent Cobra meeting indicated an increase in cases clogging hospitals was likely. I saw it mentioned somewhere else that this might mean more restrictions coming in from 18th - which I think would coincide with schools closing for Christmas.

Done. What a good little soldier I am. When the Decepticons invade my newly installed direct line to Optimus Prime will put me in the perfect position to counter.

So despite Gov recommendations for the last few weeks being all adults over 40 get the booster - according to NHS I didn’t qualify despite being into 40’s, and now that they want all +18’s done by then end of this month, the NHS website keeps crashing due to demand.

Nice fucking work Boris you muppet

Not just you. I am trying to book for booster dose via the Ontario Canada vaccine portal, it’s a mess and keep crashing. I may have to go to the walk-in instead.

I found a walk in centre and got done yesterday. When I tried to book online I got stuck in a broken links loops.

Mind you, I feel fucking rough today. Moderna this time after two AZs.

Pfizer for me on Saturday. Felt a bit fuzzy headed afterwards but that might be a slight sniffle coming on as well.

They opened too many slots at the same time, and the kids are still moving through the system. I am getting to the point that I would support criminal charges against Ford and a couple of cabinet ministers, charges similar to the French case. I was in touch with a friend who teaches at Queen’s, Kingston is a disaster. Their ICU is full, and hospital capacity will be done today. It is taking 4 days to simply book a test, even with that 5 day lag they will probably have the highest rate in the province today. He teaches econometrics, so knows whereof he speaks - his estimate is that there are over 300 active cases at Queen’s, and about that many per day in the Kingston area already.

Time to hunker down. We should lock down before Christmas, but with this government, it will likely be right after, far too late to avoid the worst spike we have seen yet.
