The Corona Pandemic

I went to a concert at Wembley Arena last Thursday (£7.50p for a pint by the way). We were also in a crowded pub outside the arena beforehand and one of our group has since tested positive. Fortunately, he is the only one so far, the price of a pint made me feel ill though.

Gee whizz…I thought our round of pt lager/pt bitter/half of cola and a wine n soda was expensive at the ‘covid’ wedding…£16.50…no wonder we all stay at home…

After testing positive, it was 8 days before I provided a negative test result.

Gordon bennett…this is drving me batty…another few days of confinement…

Thank you…pray for mester wilkored08…cos he’s really testing my patience…

Well that’s nothing new.

Does it come in tablet form? Probably a suppository knowing you lot.

How did you know?

@SBYM is prepping to administer it as we speak

UK advice is bonkers.

I now have to wait until Day 5, today is Day 0. Then test again. If I get 2 negative tests between day 5 and 10 I’m free. Day 10 I’m free no matter what the test shows.

I’m looking forward to a week in the attic with the little’un who has also just tested positive. He’s bouncing round the place like a loon.

I know you too well

He’d never use gloves. A quick wipe with eucalyptus leaves and he’d be right as rain.

Personally, I’d prefer to keep that sacred area untouched. I don’t feel that now is the right time to be “taking one for the team” just to fulfill @SBYM 's personal fantasies.

That’s what United supporters are for.

Just been for an antibody infusion.

I’ll be as bionic as Maguire soon enough.

Interesting. Did you have to get a genomic analysis to determine which strains you have as one of the big fuckers post-omicron has been the loss of effectiveness of the antibody treatments.

Nope. Walked in and got plugged into a small bag of stuff called Sotrovimab. It’s a monoclonal antibody. They did check my BP and oxygen saturation levels. Good on both counts.

Sure, I know what it is, but as the dominant strain in the population changes so too is there potential for monoclonal antibody treatment based on the original strain to lose effectiveness. We saw it a bit with delta and even more with Omicron,

Yahoo. My week gets better and better. I was told it has a 79% success rate in reducing hospitalisation and death.

Still sub Maguire level it is then

I just read about the XE variant from today’s news, while it has been around since Jan-2022.

XE “has shown a variable growth rate and we cannot yet confirm whether it has a true growth advantage.” Susan Hopkins of the U.K. Health Security Agency said in a statement. “So far there is not enough evidence to draw conclusions about transmissibility, severity or vaccine effectiveness.”

“There’s still a lot we don’t know about XE,” he said. “XE could surprise us so we have to wait to see how severe it will be.”

Good Evening everyone…just too let you know…I am now free of this lurgy…had a few of the ‘new’ symptons…but now all gone…so back fighting fit…well as much as I can be…cheers everyone…

Good to hear. So, that’s what Jürgen meant by ‘having a full squad available’. :+1::nerd_face:

Still suffering with this but I think I’m over the worse of it. It’s rough.

It came on really quick for me. Literally a couple of hours from feeling normal to suspecting something was up. I had tested negative that morning as well.

It’s weird too. I kind of feel ok but anything that requires any effort just wipes you out. Today I’m feeling quite light headed and kind of floaty, bit like Pep does I guess.
