Well, I KNOW I’m turning into Bob Willis.

Time for Stokes to move himself down to 8, play as a frontline bowler and get another batsman in the side.

I’m glad Duckett decided to go with that kind of intent again, he’s a far better player when attacking the ball rather than trying to play a Root like innings.

Strange timing. Hissy fit after being suspended for the last test?

Retiring mid over, that’s a new one. Of course he got a wicket as soon as the crowd found out.

Now he’s out there opening, trying to thrash every ball for six. How performative.

I will not be amused if he gives his wicket away. He’s making it all about him..calm down, calm down Ben.

And there he goes…out to a slog. So predictable.

I bet he will be back… oh the melodrama.

This is ridiculous. Just throwing it away. Bye bye McCullum… Time for a complete change of management and attitude…so self-indulgent. Rather pathetic actually.

Have the emotions got to everyone…slog em if u can…but we’re now at 72 for 3..
Are the relying on Root

Genuinely baffling period of play, thrown away another game there for what? Can only assume Stokes won’t be the last to go following this series and they’ve all just thought fuck it.

Just watched the most remarkable final over I’ve ever seen. Highlights, unfortunately, but still.

So anyways, stumbled onto MLC which I assume is Major League Cricket. Some pretty big names on the team sheets, must be said. Anyway, team needs 6 to win of the final over. Bowler gets a hattrick, 5 to win off 1 and the batter hits a six. Fucking hell.

Give it a few hours and hopefully we’ll be hearing about Key and McCullum’s exits as well. Farcical test match.

So Bazball limps towards its ignominious end, leaving England’s Test team in ruin.
What a pathetic episode it has turned out to be. Sure, there were thrills along the way, but it’s destroyed the finest batting prospect of his generation, it’s elevated players who simply aren’t good enough and it’s left a group without a plan or any serious leadership.

There’s now a mountain to climb to create a competitive team from the rubble.

I was thinking it sounds like a computer game but even then you couldn’t probably do that.

Yup. It should have gone post ashes.

It was a movement to develop into something more successful and yet they saw it as a be all and end all.

Brook potentially captaining in all three formats is a scary prospect to say the least. Feels like they’ll either have to go with an interim or do something mad like South Africa did years ago with Graeme Smith and give it to somebody completely out of left field.

Brook needs a complete reset. His head is gone as far as I can tell. He needs to clear his head and re-learn test match batting.

The funny thing is with Brook is he was the #1 ranked test match batter coming into this series, and has just swapped places with Root again. The potential there is scary, he just needs more sensible heads around him and I would do anything in my power to keep the burden of captaincy away from him in all formats. He should never have been made vice captain when Pope was correctly jettisoned from the squad.
