If it does get played, this could get very England-y. A 10 wicket thrashing and England and their fans will think they can walk through a furnace and not burn. Hales and Buttler to get out cheaply by Pakistan and watch them crumble. I’m in for this!
Anything can happen as Pakistanis a talented and unpredictable team. That being said, England are a lot more than just Hales and Buttler. Plenty of big hitters down the lineup.

Expected result. Semis was realistically the best possible outcome for India.
England were miles better than Pakistan in the recent series without a few of their heavy hitters as well, should have put them away a lot more comfortably than they eventually did. If England win the toss I’d definitely be looking to chase again. They go into the game as big favourites imo but as always with Pakistan, you just never know what might happen.

I think Pak will win this.
England is comfortably stronger on Paper. But whenever Pak get a stroke of luck and get on a roll , they tend to steamroll over opponents in the finals.
It depends on whether they can break England’s opening partnership, or whether England can break theirs.
Both out by the third over in the damp final. That’s cricket.

At least they are trying to at least get the 10 overs in each still be a bit cheap if we can’t get the full 20 in.
Just move it to a venue where the weather isn’t shit and make the tickets work. Can’t be that hard.

You’ve got 100,000 ticket holders to reimburse. The nearest viable alternative is Brisbane which is 1,775 km away. Setting up a shuttle bus service isn’t really an option.

Ah, cancel all the tickets and pay on the door at the new venue. A world cup final is better than no world cup final.

I agree that would have been better, but you have to admit that reimbursing 100,000 ticket holders, each of whom will have spent 100+ dollars a ticket would not have been straightforward.
Ideally, they would have decided that three days ago when the forecast was so clearly ominous.
A lot of cheap tickets for sale by over optimistic Indians.
