I fully expect he’ll bow out after the next Ashes. I’m hoping by that stage Konstas had at least settled into his role- we’ll learn more about him against normal bowling opponents over the next 24 months as I don’t think too much should be taken from this series.
If Konstas has settled in, we can then look to bed in another batsman at the other end. Could Webster open? Perhaps.
And to finalise my spamming on this thread, I’m really happy with how every one of the pitch curators prepared these pitches. They were all fair, and not cooked to get us a series win. There was some great variety between each of the pitches, and there was often something for both bat and ball.
Hopefully they can provide similar for next summer’s Ashes
Ok, maybe, but if some twat spouts shit and you then repost that shit, you’re just magnifying the amount of shit in the world.
Ignore it, walk away, and spread peace and love.
I realise that Indians love their cricket and that there are 1.4B of them, but when social media has tens of thousands of posts talking about fucking mothers, doing shit to player’s wives, and stuff like above related to Hughes, I do question whether other fans saying ‘its ok, just let it play out’ just emboldens more people to make idiotic comments.
Pretty much how there’s always a hands-off approach to the Indian team in case they down tools and leave a country mid-tour because their feelings are hurt. Like has happened before. Case in point: the ball tampering in the Mackay match leading into this series, that’s been pretty much ignored.
I wish appropriate action was taken to both the cricket team and their fans so that all parties understand that it’s not ok or normal.
I’m not saying it’s ok, I’m just saying don’t amplify it.
I could see the point of the Indian team making a public announcement to their fans to behave more decently, but continually reposting horrible content just leads to a spiral of outrage and insults. How is that helpful?
It’s easy enough replacing Rohit and Kohli because they are doing jackshit. Might have a couple of series of pain. There are batsmen in the domestic circuit like Sai Sudarshan , Gaekwad who can get a call.
Not that worried about the spin options. Kuldeep and Washington can get in. The added advantage that Washy can bat at a decent level does help too.
As far as fast bowling goes , Shami is making his way back from injuries and while India does have other fast bowling options and are too utterly reliant on Bumrah. , they lack the experience. Might be worthwhile to get Umesh Yadav back in to the side for some bend the back bowling.
I hope that this is how we see India lineup against England. Although do think Virat will work his way into one more series
Jaiswal
Sai Sudharshan
Gill
KL Rahul
Nitish Kumar Reddy
Pant
Axar Patel
Washington
Bumrah
Akashdeep
Shami
Could do better with the third pacer. England series is a while away and hopefully we get better by then.
Wouldn’t even mind Axar Patel over Jadeja
Will be refreshing to support the Indian team after Kohli fucks off. Entitled twat.
“Social media” , always brings out the lowest forms of society
India with 1.4 billion probably has more than their fair bit of them due to the sheer population of the country. Again. Generalization. An overwhelming percentage of Indians(of people who are aware of it) don’t even use X on a regular basis. And then you are looking at the miniscule number of wankers who possibly make multiple fake profiles looking to get likes/reactions.
The easiest thing to do is to do what I’ve done , disassociate myself with social media platforms like X to the extent that you only see the latest football gossip.
