Going to need a massive first session if Australia are to win from here.
Need probably 3 or 4 wickets in the first 10-12 overs or South Africa will be able to take their time to pick off the last 69 runs

That could happen on a cloudy morning at Lord’s.
If SA can get to needing under fifty with only losing one more wicket, they’ll be favourites, but anything else is up for grabs.
Yeah , the SA being the choke artists is the only thing that’s going to save the Aussies.
40 runs left so it is safe to say this one is done.
Congratulations South Africa.
What a defeatist attitude! They lost six wickets for about 30 in the first innings.
Bad reviews though.
the difference is on days 1 & 2 the ball was moving a lot more than it did yesterday or today. So far this morning Australia have looked tidy, not giving up easy runs but have not looked overly threatening in terms of taking wickets
Congratulations SA.
Great effort in the second innings.
Congratulations SA.
Markram finally delivering on the biggest stage, should have a much better record given his ability. Congrats to SA, the entire format of the “competition” is a bit baffling but they still managed to beat what is probably the first or second biggest challenge that could have been put in front of them.
I was surprised Markram got Player of the Match as I personally thought Radaba taking 9 wickets including 5 in the first innings was more crucial to putting South Africa in the best position to win.
Nah. Scoring 130 in the 4th innings while chasing a target of 280 gets him the nod.
Even if the conditions did ease out.
I look at it from a consistency view and Radaba performed better over the whole test. Markram turned up at the end, but scored 0 and dropped a couple of catches on so didn’t perform over all days of the test
Who is this reasonable poster writing sensible comments? And what have you done with Aussielad?
Anyone know if Sky have the rights for the Ashes?
Sky seem content enough with just the home series nowadays, so expect TNT will have it again.
Report in Jan that they were showing little interest but nothing since though one of those TV websites seem to suggest they expect they will show it.
Reason I ask is yesterday they seemed to be focusing quite a bit on it, showed some highlights from past series, interviewd Graham Swan who was in Oz. Seems strange if they haven’t actually got them.
In the UK, TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport) is the broadcaster for the upcoming 2025-2026 Ashes series between Australia and England. They hold the rights to broadcast all international cricket played in Australia, including the men’s and women’s Ashes series
