I have watched Lillie only for a year or two ![]()
that kid Vaibhav Suryavanshi just hit 78 off 26 against a bowling attack featuring Hazlewood and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.
I get it’s the IPL but it still takes some doing.
Any noticeable flaws/weaknesses in his game at this point?
Will have to see how he handles the more bouncier and pacier conditions, but as of this point - Nope.
Yeah that will be a big test. When do India next tour Australia - I presume it’s a couple of years away which should be enough time for him to make the test side if he’s as good as predicted.
The next t20 world cup is in Australia. I assume he’ll be in the indian squad by then.
As of now, he needs to work on his game and play more first class matches.
At this point. He’s forcing himself into contention for the odi / T20 sides where India is already pretty strong. That gives a fair indicator of his talent.
Would like to see him on a pitch that does anything at all to be honest, this IPL has been incredibly boring to watch so far.
Always felt that the shorter the format the shallower the theatre.
It has been progressively getting worse. The initial World Cups were great to watch, with the likes of Gul and Malinga bringing some real theatre to the death overs.
Nowadays a 15 year old can cart one the greatest Indian fast bowler of all time around the ground with ease.
the point remains as to why the other people weren’t able to do that.
There were literally no people in the previous world cups who could hit bumrah in a consistent manner.
I’ve not been a fan of t20 since its inception and I think one dayers at least provide the opportunity for some balance especially with variable pitches where bowlers can get some reward.
Fify
I don’t mind T20 but it shouldn’t be at a cost to the longer forms of the game.
It’s like shagging behind the bike sheds shouldn’t be at the expense of a long courtship, five course dinners, and an extended weekend in a romantic hotel in Italy.
Are you asking me out on a date?
I like t20s, I don’t like the leagues. I think ODIs are a dated format.
More tests, more t20s and probably revamp ODIs as a format fully.
The two new balls aren’t helping the bowlers. There’s virtually nothing going on from overs 25 to 40 except grinding. That’s way too long. Most of the pitches are roads. Maybe go back to the old format of 1 ball lasting 35-36 overs and then a replacement older ball coming for the last 15. More day matches instead of day nighters. I hate the concept of day night matches especially in the subcontinent where the dew really twists in favour of the sides winning the toss and choosing to field first.
Absolutely no meaningless bilaterals. Let every odi and T20 international being played be a part of a triangular / quadrangular series. If india is touring England for instance , let the ODIs and t20s be scheduled with a third team for instance.
1 ball for the full 50 overs, FFS. The best ODIs often were lower scoring games
