No way would I attempt this…!

Is that one of those bikes with an electric motor?

No. Just Gravity and reduced air resistance!

He’s got 2 more sprint stages in this years Tour by my reckoning to go beyond the record. Stages 19 and 21 (Paris).

There’s a small issue of making sure he gets over the Pyrenees within the time cuts to get to those stages. But he’s got to now, purely for the green jersey as well.

one thing about this record. It’s one of those that is simply unlikely to ever be beaten. His closest rival is Greipel. He has 11.

Quality win by a quality rider, a true great of sports in general.
He looked very dead in his post race interview, hopefully he recovers well and makes it to Paris and breaks Mercx’s Champs-Élysées win record and overall win record

Astonishing comeback given how he’s looked the last few years. Good for him.

Almost lost that one! His lead out man was practically feathering the breaks at the end to ensure Cav.got over the top. But 34 wins is unlikely to be bettered until we see a new greatest sprinter of all time. Winning multiple stages in the Tour in any year is amazing and a highlight of any riders palmares but the longevity required to get to 34 is something else.

Lots of talk about Cav retiring after Champs Elysee but a good mate of Cav, Mark Renshaw, saying today he thinks Cav won’t want to stop and will want to come back in 2022. Perhaps he could end up winning 36-7 stages?

Oh and he’ll recover just fine and has to be favourite for 35 in Paris.

Congrats to the American, Sepp Kuss, on his stage victory. How about Alejandro Valverde in second. 41 YO. Still looks pretty strong.

Good competition on the Polka Dot jersey too. Too bad that Woods could not hold onto the jersey into the rest day (at least I don;t think he got enough points to hold on).

Pogačar kept on counter each and every attacks from the other front runners. It will still be concerning for him that his team mates were no where to be seen before the final climb to support him. Spent too much energy in pulling the breakaway.

Timing your afternoon ride to be back with 60k to go on the days stage is one of life’s great pleasures

Something a little bit Armstrong about Pogacar I think

He looks way too strong, was like he was playing with Carapaz and Vingegaard on the final ascent

He didn’t have to push but was still happy to try and break Carapaz. It was the arrogance that he’s started to exhibit at times throughout the race but in particular today that gets me. Haven’t seen that for some time to be honest.

I don’t know how you break him to be honest. He’s wobbled a little bit once, otherwise, it’s looked too easy.

For anyone out there thinking of getting a bike… I bought a Cannondale Hybrid Q3 a few years ago and I can only say it was one of the best purchases ever made…
So well built and easy to maintain… Just brilliant
Looking to upgrade soon, but will probably stick with a newer Cannondale and put the other out to graze in case of any emergencies that may occur…!

Well the correct number of bikes to own is n+1; where n is the number of bikes already in your ownership

Unless you haven’t over €1000 to throw at it.
I went the €500 route twice 1st time for myself and was pretty dissappointed (got an Lapierre which tend to have shit equipement for the price nice frame mind shitty forks) 2nd time for my son which was much better (a decathlon tend to have great equipement for the price and the frame and forks where good) just the SRAM drailleur system isn’t precise enough changing from handle grip changers to push controls would help).
Anyway even at €1000 I’d still only go for a Decathlon bike for quality price (otherwise you need to be looking at more for my usage).

On yesterday’s stage I honestly don’t know what more I can say on Pogacar. He’s a freak and a monster.

So much I’m struggling to get behind him to be honest. Then again I’m still pissed that the first week crashes demolished any hope of decent GC race. Bar the romance of what Cavendish is doing it would be a pretty poor Tour this year I think.

Interesting to see what falls out from the police raid on the Bahrain Victorius Hotel night before last.
