By some miracle I’ve managed to comandier the TV and the Dauphine is on!
According to the 60-year-old, and three-time Tour de France winner, the form of leukemia is treatable and not life-threatening. He will begin treatment later this week in the US.

Heartbreak for the break away today in stage 5 of Critérium du Dauphiné…missed out the win by 50 metres.
The peloton caught up and Van Aert won by about 6 inches.
Edit. Got the wrong info as I was watching the replay from yesterday’s Stage 5. Stage 6 is still ongoing.

Getting ready for the big event. Looked up this years Tour de France stages. Disappointed to be honest. No west of France South west or South East. I’m not sure I can get into this. Never liked the new format with that Prudhomme chappy putting his vision on things (undoubtably it’s working with the TV audiance) but went along with it this year massive disappointment and interest fading.
Sure once it gets into the mountains I’ll be there, when possible, in front of my tele but that feeling will linger.

It usually does pass through other countries no? Giro also. We hosted it in N Ireland a few years back. Was amazing

It’s going into 3 other countries this year Denmark, Belgium and switzerland. A bit much to take when there’s no South West stage. It does often visit one other country but they have now decided to take the piss.

I stood in the rain for three hours and spoke to some bloke from Yorkshire about how good the tea is up there.
My brand new wife was well impressed.
