Stunning stage today. The Jumbo one-two punches against Pog. Wout going back to fetch Roglic and pull him into the lead group for another dig or two. Gerraint just ticking along all day and hanging on in there. Quintana showing he’s still got those big climbs in the legs on his day.

All played out in some amazing scenery and ending with a new man in yellow and the previously invincible Pogcar left needing to do some serious work.

And the back up the Galibier again tomorrow. Love it.

Just watched the highlights. What an incredible stage. Have never seen anything like that teamwork from Jumbo on the Galibier. Pog looked fine but was obviously totally wrecked. Unreal from Vingegaard. G did great to hang on. And gotta love Quintana smashing it too

Watching the crowds on Alp d’Huez stresses me out, never mind cycling through them :cold_sweat:

When was the last time a French rider won on the 14th of July?
A British rider winning must hurt.
Anyway I’m resting from tomorrow so will get to see a bit. It’s strange waking up when the stage is done and dusted!

You could have ended there!

They do win stages …

Caught up on the last two days.
Wow just wow, wow, wow.

Jumbo brilliance, Pog shows some weakness, Vingegaard awesome. Van Aert just pure power. Geraint Thomas the clever tractor, Pidcock incredible (up and down hill and tactically spot on) great to see Froome back in there too.

Inspirational couple of days that if you want to “understand” the Tour it was pretty much all there.

And all the history of Alp d’Huez. On my bucket list to cycle it!

Would be cool. I doubt I could do it these days. I’d certainly like to see a stage or 2 of the Tour.

We’re def doing the camper van thing when the kids are older.

And the mankini?

I can see you being like the devil bloke, bless him.

El Diablo.

Fascinating stage today. Pog trying unconventional tactics to get time on Vingegaard.

Jumbo can’t take their eyes off him for a second.

I fell asleep before the end, when the shenanegans started had Cabel Ewan caught up with the ‘Peloton’?
Just that they had decided on a rest day so Ewan wouldn’t get swept up. (and noone in the breakaway was of any danger).

Just looked up the times and it would appear that Ewan had caught up but then dropped back a little.

Nope

Great little battle at the end and amazing guts from Mathews to win it. He looked cooked at one point.

Mathews deserved that, great attack to break the group up and looked strong then. I fell asleep and the noise at the finish woke me up so I saw him cross the line then fell back to sleep. France tele need to show me more shots of Marion so that I stay alert.

There that’s better, Marion and Laurent.

2017 Warren Barguil, my favorite French cyclist atm.
2005 David Moncoutie I don’t think I was very fond of him.
2004 Richard Virenque I think this one has said a lot of silly stuff.
2001 and 1995 (finish at Mendes like todays stage) Laurent Jalabert Great rider, nice mix of old timer and trying to keep up with modern times. Great for a silly old git like me to listen to whilst watching the tour de France.

Shame you missed it. Mathews got caught, cracked and then somehow, somehow dragged himself back on and went again. Phenomenal!
